box #4533
auto: Honor Blackman Cool
relic: RC5
quotable cards: Q5, Q6
Liaisons cards: DL 1,4,9
expansion cards:BG47, BW0021

I didn't get a complete base set - I got 8 spares and 2 defective cards Mad One card I pulled of Kara Milovy was creased and part of her head was chopped off! It got caught in the sealing of the packet process too and there's perforation markings across it Frown

But apart from that I'm happy - I only had enough money to afford the one box and to pull Honor's auto was great stuff Smile

got a box of this today
First looks smart box, it all went down hill from then, NO BASIC SET something seriously wrong there, chase cards !!!! sorry rehashing some other bond sets chase, if you did not get the previous cards What use are they ???
the bland and boring autograph card and the even sadder bit of a flag hardly inspire the $80.00 paid for the box, with a base set for sale on the bay at £3.99, the flag at £7.99, the auto at £4.99 all with no bids, just buying this has lost me $46.00 (£23.00)
It seems the only winner here is the guy who managed to off load this REALLY bad product
Sorry for the rant, any more of this quality product will go the way of Skybox !!!!

Well Pochacco got a Blackman auto and nice looking, albiet more common prop - lets call that a £160 box - looks like he/she 'made' £120. Just because you got one of the less good boxes does not mean this is a 'really bad product,' first it would need to be bad.
Everyone I have spoken to on board and off has raved about this set, and apart from a few surprisingly high-priced relics I can't see why people would complain.

Not having a base set is not 'seriously wrong.' If it means a large & beautifully designed base set released then I'm all for it. It was common knowledge many people aren't making base sets from single boxes - how can you be surprised? Also if it makes base sets harder to compile, then isn't this the first (and well needed) step in along time that any manufacturer has taken to make a base set worth something again? As a dealer suerely you could appreciate this?
If it encourages collectors to trade for their needs isn't that also a good thing?

'What use are the chase cards?' Not everyone is a casual buyer, I know I needed the updated chase cards. But if they are the casual buyer it may entice them to look up RA's older Bond products, how is that a bad thing in any way? The chase also keep older releases contemporary.

If the autograph is 'bland and boring' and you thought some of the props were even 'sadder,' why did you even buy the box? You havn't even mentioned which auto it was you got - alot of the cheaper ones like Gianinni or Foucan are far more exciting pulls for a fan than the 5th and 6th autocard incarnations of Maud Adams, even if she is Very Limited.

If this is a bad product you must have some obscenely high expectations!

If you knew me in any way at all you would now my expectations, A beautiful base set that I have to chase to put together £3.99 at the bay
It would seem a lot of people Don'T rate this set at all, thus the amazingly low low prices on the Bay

If I had purchased a box from any of the dealers I use and I didn't get a complete set I know I could rely on them to send me the missing card or two. It really isn't a massive issue.

Yes of course there are alot of low prices for things and its always going to be the base & chase in today's high-end obsessed market. But when people are plonking down up to £250 each for some props I wouldn't call this set something Bond fans don't 'rate.' It has the best auto Bond auto line-up ever, relics with the biggest swatches ever seen and a fun/nice-looking base set. It is a fantastic product.

I also dont think its down to the dealer to correct an issue of some 20 cards to complete a base set, I dont want 5 base sets, But I do expect ONE, I would not normally buy Bond , but as you go through life its sometimes nice to try new things, I did , I did not like the product, I have the right as far as I know to say so

RA does NOT guarantee a base set in their boxes. If it was a 90 card base set, they prob would. this is an almost 180 cards base set so get over that.

The chase are beautiful, and it is nice that RA put in the time to update them to reflect the new film.

Sorry you got a crappy box. I opened a case, I had a box or two that were not great but I am not going to complain. The auto line up is amazing and be happy you even pulled a flag prop. You never had the chance to pull that before.

Chase Sets (case totals):
Casino Royale Dangerous Liaisons - 2 complete sets of 9 cards each (17 duplicate cards remaining)
Quotable Casino Royale - 3 complete sets of 6 cards each (6 duplicate cards remaining)
Casino Royale Expansion Set - 1 complete set of 10 cards (12 duplicate cards remaining, 2 cards damaged)

Case Topper:
DC1 - Dual tuxedo/shirt costume card (shirt has small bloodstain Smile)

Overall, I am really disappointed with this case. The base set is fantastic; definitely my favourite Bond set, but to not get any of the top four autos (Famke, Ursula, Blackman or Scorupco) is terrible news for me. I bought the case expecting/hoping to get a head start on completing this set, but it's going to cost too much now to get all four of those rare autos on top of the case price.

Feeling pretty gutted right now as I was so excited about this set from day one. Frown

You feel that's a realistic expectation to set for yourself? Pretty high expectations. I'd be happy to trade my Famke auto for your Dench, Cumming and Adams autos.

I can't believe why you are unhappy with your case break.

You got 5 Very Limited Auto Cards & 3 Very Limited Relic Cards out of One Case.

As a dealer I would be well happy with you case.

Dave.
