And for the record, Rogue One is my least favorite Star Wars film. It looks like Star Wars, but there is absolutely no joy in the story, characters, or really anything. I don't want to feel miserable for 2.5 hours when I'm watching Star Wars.

Yeah, Alden Ehrenreich is a working actor and it's not that he's bad at it, but he won't be the star again. "Solo" bombed out and it wasn't his fault, but it doesn't matter. What's Ezra Miller doing these days? And he really didn't help "The Flash" at all.

As far as "Rogue One" goes, I agree with you. Didn't like it because of the ending. Even with the preordained outcome, it isn't history. They could have done way better by the characters. However the film made money and satisfied those "serious" Star Wars fans, which "Solo" didn't do on either front.

I agree with this too, but I would even apply it to Star Wars, as I never was much of a fan after the first trilogy, 4 - 6.

Think about it. Star Wars is not fun for any of the characters. In between a few victories that are eventually erased, they lead miserable lives, and then they die. I hated the last batch when Han, Luke and Leia took their turn dying in each film. Is that not killing off all your heroes and how is that fun?

Superheroes must also be flawed and miserable and eventually sacrificed. No fun for you!

This stuff isn't history. It isn't fact. I like happy endings. Sue me! Big Grin

Yeah, and they all LOVE the series Andor. I watched two episodes and bounced, it wasn't for me. And now it's lauded as the greatest thing in Star Wars. I'm glad someone enjoys it, there's something for everyone.

My brother-in-law tried to hype me up on Andor telling me "It's nothing like Star Wars." Uhhh, I want lots of Star Wars in my Star Wars!! Big Grin

Fair points. Rogue One was dark and sad the whole time, the characters were all dark and sad. In the OT you had C-3PO and R2-D2 offering some levity, the droid in Rogue One was, you guessed it, dark and sad, and pretty condescending.

I'm all for flaws, but give me someone or something to root for. I was glad nobody made it out of Rogue One. Red Face
