Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff passed away at the age of 81 on November 24.

I read that Gil Gerard passed away on December 16 at the age of 82. If you were a kid in the 70's, he was and will always be Buck Rogers.

I just read that British singer/songwriter/slide guitarist, Chris Rea, passed away earlier today at the age of 74. He had a big hit in '78, "Fool (If You Think It's Over"). I remember that song well - used to be on the local easy rock station (KEZR) before it changed its format to crappy pop of the 90's.

He was also well known here in the UK for two driving songs: 'Driving Home for Christmas' and 'Road to Hell'. The latter was about the frustration of being stuck in rush-hour traffic on the motorway. It struck chords with just about everyone who drives a car.

Bob Weir, Grateful Dead guitarist and co-founder, passed away today at the age of 78.

Scott Adams, who created the comic strip Dilbert, that ran from 1989 to 2023, has died of cancer at age 68.

It has been reported that Kenny Morris, who was the drummer on Siouxsie and the Banshees' first two albums back in the late 70's, passed away this month.

NJ celebrity Uncle Floyd Vivino, who had a local comedy TV show from 1974 until the 1990s, has passed at 74. He was very well known in the Garden State for 50 years.

Speaking of local celebrities, the San Francisco Bay Area lost a legend, Doug McConnell, on Jan 13 at the age of 80 (complications from a stroke). He's known nationally for his TV show, "Mac and Muttley," which was originally on Channel 5 (KPIX) in the Bay Area but went into syndication on the Discovery Channel. He was on Channel 4 (KRON) from 1993 to 2008 with his popular show, "Bay Area Backroads," in which he visited interesting people in out-of-the-way places in my region. He hosted, "Pacific Currents," which was more environmentalism-oriented. He also reported for CBS News on environmental issues for a time.
