Jim Carrey is said to be working on a second GRINCH movie, after the live action one from back in the year 2000.

I didn't realize that Henry Cavill had filmed a VOLTRON film in 2025.

It will not be in theaters but will be shown on Amazon Prime in 2027.

I read that Marvel may be releasing BLACK PANTHER 3 in 2028.

It sounds like Tom Cruise has committed to doing a third "Top Gun", although there doesn't seem to be any scheduling dates attached to the story.

He'd better not wait too long. I had to squint my eyes to recognize him performing his soliloquy before the FIFA World Cup game. Not that he looked bad, just that he looked like someone else. A common occurrence among Hollywood stars these days, even the younger ones.

So Marvel has just premiered the next cast of X-Men for a new movie coming out most likely in 2028. Naturally Sadie Sink is Jean Grey as set up in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day". Samara Weaving will play Emma Frost and the only other actor I really know is Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister.

Driver's appearance seals the deal for me. I was unlikely to see it anyway, but any film with Driver in it automatically sends me running in the opposite direction. Since Leto can no longer get an acting job, Driver has replaced Him as the kiss of death for any project that hires him. Just my opinion of course.

One thing that could matter to the new X-Men film. Sink is 24 and looks younger. Driver is 42 and doesn't look younger. Does anyone see the chemistry? I'm bias, so not me, but I think it would be more than me.

Has Driver had any hits since his last Star Wars film in 2019 ? Not aware of any successful movies he was in over the last 7 years where he was the lead

Besides anything other than Star Wars, which he certainly can't claim any credit for, only Lincoln and BlacKkKlansman made money. The rest of his resume is flops, both big and small films, and independent movies that nobody heard about even when they were new. He does supporting roles more than lead roles and if he is picking his parts, he has terrible taste in scripts.

Driver is applauded by his peers just for doing those artistic roles in award winning films that no one really wants to see besides them. Sometimes not even them. However, just like the same entire group who are happy to collect their checks from Disney, Marvel and DC, Driver isn't above taking the franchise role while maintaining his classical reputation.

I don't know how you measure success with Driver but, with the exception of Star Wars, it hasn't been in dollars, and it hasn't been in entertainment. And his contribution to Star Wars wasn't good either.

I think he was a good choice. The list of actors who consistently are the leads in successful movies is a small one. Filmmaking is an ensemble effort, not least of all where the casts are concerned.

He's widely considered to have been the best of the new characters invented for the Sequel Trilogy. His portrayal of Kylo Ren in a Saturday Night Live "Undercover Boss" parody went viral and is one of the most beloved filmed segments in the show's history.

As for movies he's been in, here are some entertaining ones you may have missed:

Marriage Story
Logan Lucky
The Last Duel
Silence
Frances Ha
Inside Llewyn Davis

Everyone's idea of entertainment is different, and I really haven't seen 3 of those films, so I wouldn't make a comment on them. However I did see most of "Silence", except for a couple of scenes that I walked away from. Honestly I don't know why I even stayed to the end. I can't blame Driver for that one, looked like he took his job hard. I just don't know why he wanted it in the first place. Scorsese?

I think Martin Scorsese must have been hearing the Angels for him to make "Silence" as a sort of personal spiritual redemption. Whether true or not as an historic period, it was a miserable and ultimately stupid story. It cost around 50M and grossed a whomping 28M globally. At least Scorsese has rebounded since then. Not like Francis Ford Coppola's passion project "Megalopolis", which also happened to star Adam Driver by the way.

That Driver is again taking the big paycheck for X-Men is actually the most reasonable thing he's done in a long while.

Sam Jones was at his usual booth in the hall at Comic-Con and still looks like he could play Flash Gordon well over 40 years later. I wonder what was the hold up on that one. If it had been done it even 10 years ago, they could've brought back Ming, Hans Zarkov, and even General Klytus.
