I'm sure it will be and I am looking forward to reading it. As I mentioned to Gary yesterday, a quick glimpse through the images in the book shortly after it arrived reminded me of cards I never knew existed yet alone having seen. Gum cards as American Cards were known as in the 60's & 70's in my collecting world were only available as issued by A & BC Gum whose issues were mainly Soccer and Pop Star cards. Unlike you guys we did not have local card or comic shops and had to rely on the corner shop newsagents selling confectionery that contained cards. We could also collect tea cards, the packets of which were generally available in the high street shops.
regards
John

Hello everyone. Gary Gerani here, publisher of THE CARD KING CHRONICLES. I'm having a little trouble using this system. When I hit the "post" button at the top, I'm brought to a page where I can apparently enter my post for this thread. So I entered it, included an attachment, and hit "post." Unfortunately, my post never appeared on this thread, or anywhere else as far as I can tell. Can someone here tell me what I'm doing wrong? I can post directly, of course, by hitting "reply." which is what I'm doing right now... although I'm not allowed to attach any image from my computer, just a URL. Needless to say, I'm thrown by all this, and would greatly appreciate a fellow member explaining the process. Thanks so much! Best, Gary G.This message has been edited. Last edited by: CardKing,

I don't know what happened but I did a test post in the Test Forum at the bottom of the page and my test appeared. I see Wolfie added a non-reply post earlier today.
Also, when you say "attachment," what do you mean? You can post links here but this forum is not set up to attach images to your post. Instead, you have to embed a link to an image that exists on the web and then the image will appear in the post as if you attached it.

Thanks, my friend. I'm still a bit baffled by this system -- when I hit "post" above, I'm given a "Books About Cards" box to fill, and the option of including a jpeg from my computer, which it attaches to the message. But when I hit "post," the post/attachment appears to go through, but then it doesn't turn up anywhere... certainly not in this "Books about Cards" thread. Having tried three times, I'm giving up now; life is too short, So I'll simply convey my message (sans attachment from my computer) by just hitting "reply." And away we go...
NEW!!! "THE CARD KING CHRONICLES VOL. 4: THE 90's" is now available. It's the biggest and most colorful edition yet, a whopping 249 image-filled pages (compared to Vol. 1's 182). A lot happened in the '90s, including the rise of Topps Comics and some pretty cool creative projects I helmed for Upper Deck, Inkworks, DuoCards, and Comic Images. This latest book cost a third more to print than the others, but the price to my buyers remains the same. And a new bundle deal includes all four volumes of CKC for $100. Now that's an offer no trading card enthusiast can refuse! Order right now at https://www.fantasticpress.store/
