Card 985. Lemony Snicket. I don't know why that image is on the front of the card. There are a few Snicket cards in the series including one where he goes by his real name, Daniel Handler. I think that one has an actual photo of him. ![]()

Card 985. William T. Vollmann. Vollmann has 10 cards in the Booksmith series - the most by any author - and they are scattered across the run almost from start to end (cards 19, 36, 135, 386, 649, 716, 749, 826, 908, and 986). ![]()

And then the Booksmith series reached card 1000 with pop science writer, Mary Roach. I'm not sure I'm old enough to read that book, though. ![]()

Card 1012 Chuck Palahniuk. Author of "Fight Club" (1996) which was adapted into the more widely-known 1999 movie. At Booksmith events, Palahniuk often added doodles with his signature, marking up his portrait with a black eye or blackened teeth as noted in Thomas' six-part "Medium" article. Here's an unmarked card which might be harder to find in the future. ![]()
