Netflix is buying the Warner Bros studio and HBO for nearly 83 billion. Another example of media giants consolidating. We saw it with Disney buying 20th Century Fox and Amazon buying MGM.

Looks like Paramount and Warner Bros. may be merging. Which means you may only have 4 big studios left (them, Disney, Universal, and Sony/Columbia)

Amazon bought MGM, but it hasn't been a big studio since the 1960s.

If this happens, 2 big studios may be combining their library of films.

Paramount hasn't had many major hits in recent years. Over this decade, it's been primarily known for TOP GUN, and the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG and TRANSFORMERS movies.

Warner Bros. had the HARRY POTTER films, and now it has been relying upon the DUNE, BATMAN, and SUPERMAN movies for hits.

So much for the antitrust laws that were intended to prevent monopolies like this.
