Sam Keith was best known for creating The Maxx comic for Image in the 1990s. There were at least 2 card sets done for the character, the first one by Topps in 1994.

Very sad news. I loved his work going all the way back to when he inked Matt Wagner's pencils on "Mage", one of his earliest jobs 40 years ago,

Here's a Mars Attacks sketch card by Sam.

Rest in peace, Sam Kieth.

Chip Taylor, who wrote the famous 1966 hit "Wild Thing" for the Troggs has died.

He also wrote "Angel of the Morning", which was a hit in both 1968 and 1981.

Chip was the younger brother of actor Jon Voight.

I'm sorry to read that - hadn't heard about it on the news. Seals and Crofts had three hit albums in the 70's so they had their time but pop music tastes were changing by the mid-late 70's. You had disco and harder/edgier rock taking over and hair bands/New Wave in the 80's. Artists like Seals and Crofts or John Denver - no matter how well-crafted their songs continued to be - didn't go with that transition and you started hearing fewer of their old hits on the radio by the 90's. These days, it's nice to hear a few of their songs ("Summer Breeze" and "Hummingbird") on the Yacht Rock channel on XFinity.

They are both gone now. I believe that Seals died in 2022. I read on line that a few years ago, the daughter of one of them and the nephew of the other were touring as "Seals and Crofts 2."

Most of their hits were between 1972 and 1976, but they lasted until the early 1980s and then broke up, with occasional reunions.

They were sort of like the 1970s group Bread, which had the mellow hits during the first half of that decade but were gone by the mid-70s.

Yeah, Bread was huge too during the early 70's. It's rare for a band to keep having hits across several years, decade to decade. The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Hall and Oates did it but you're lucky to have two hit albums - lucky to have even one.
