Any card set we're still talking about 7 years later and 6 pages deep means it has had lasting impact. Collectors appreciate the idea of a set taking a traditional subject in irreverent directions even if they don't like some of the cards. You're not going to see that kind of latitude given to artists with "Star Wars" or "Disney" characters. Yeah, it eliminates that chance of what might be uninspired tastelessness but it also disallows any original/provocative take on a character.
