Haha, thank you Raven :P I do hope that they like it. I did some smaller female pin ups for the set but thought it would be fun to add a little diversity to the mix Wink

Hopefully, it will be pulled by someone - guy or gal - who appreciates it, Raven. Smile

Personally, I'm digging Sugar Skull Santa! Metal

Thank you so much Debi Smile I'm really glad you like it x

Time to dig this old thread up for the holidays.

How can the "promo" cards in the packs really be promo cards?

Some of the evil Santa cards are fantastic. I love the Exorcist homage one. I don't collect sketch cards, but I wouldn't mind getting that one.

The Kringle Kards were fantastic and I wish I had bought more of them. I didn't buy any packs because you couldn't pick the type of sketch you wanted, funny, evil, sexy, etc. I did prefer the more non-traditional subjects Big Grin , so I picked up just a few individual ones off eBay. I don't know if Kringle Kards made any money for Breygent since they did not do it again, but the concept was another example of how innovated they were for the time.

Breygent released many of their promo cards in different ways that were not in strict agreement with the rules of what a promo card should be, but years later if it says promo, fewer and fewer people remember the origins and just accept it.

I wonder the same thing about kickstarter sets that included 'promo' cards for the set itself. . .

This happens a lot, and Webjon makes a very good point about "promos" in crowdfunding.

Same with Rittenhouse binders... Is the promo in the binder really a promo? Or a product premium?

The "what is a promo card?" theme has become a running commentary in several of the threads now, whether the subject started about promo cards or not. There are no real answers because it is all about individual interpretations and there are are too many exceptions and too many grey areas.

Its a promo card if it was handed out for free and there were 10,000 of them. After that it becomes a shell game, even when it says promo, and promo collectors know it. They know that the more limited, more valuable modern promo cards were designed solely for that purpose. They know that if you get the card because you purchased it with something else or because you achieved some level of product buying, its really not a promo at all. You can have a promotional card without it being a "promo card" in the pure sense of the hobby term.

So I guess the theme of it will just go round and round as to what is and what isn't a promo card. Full of "sound and fury, signifying nothing". Wink
