yes, very interesting that many of the inserts and incentives are now starting to appear. I actually prefer the standard Craig full bleed insert to the dual auto/costume card listed. Loving all the other inserts I have seen so far though. Looks another really well put together release by Rittenhouse. What does anybody think to the price on the archive box? I had no idea it would be that high. $3,499.95!

i was thinking of getting an archive box (as i did with the set before last, bond archives) but with only 16 full bleed autos,(less than half the last 2 sets) i decided to take my chances ordering a case instead, and hoping i got either or brosnan or craig, but if their one in 5 cases i haven t got a hope.

Heck! Only just seen that the Craig and Brosnan autos are "extremely limited". Another couple of cards that'll be like goldust - much like the original Famke Janssen full-bleed. As much as I love Rittenhouse, sometimes they do go a bit mad on autograph styles. They ought to ask for the stars to sign less styles of card, but more of each. I mean, surely even full-bleed collectors would prefer it if there were just one full-bleed Craig, say from Casino Royale, but more of a chance of getting one. Plus, that signed costume from Daniel Craig is pretty ugly. I can only hope they haven't asked Brosnan to sign a full-bleed for each of his films, plus a 40th Ann, plus a signed costume, plus a dual Craig/Brosnan, otherwise many dedicated (and henceforth disappointed) fans will be simply priced out of the market. Well, that's my opinion anyway!

There are 7000 boxes if it was not already answered. I prefer the Auto Costume craig. More room for his signature and I think it looks better

Did anyone notice the Archive box that was listed on ebay? It had a Best offer price $3499.95 Didn't last long though as the seller ended it early, I wonder what that means.

Really don't understand that pricing. Must be a first to market premium in it. I know there are the high end autos, and the lower print run relics, but surely anything over $2,000 is absurd.

I always love this moment of the release, seeing the cards for the first time and trying to work out the optimum price for the different cards. That said, things are pretty ridiculous at the moment. $200 for a 'limited' autograph???? IMO, that's just a waste of a listing fee.

I don't think $2000 is that far off for an archive box. You have the two rarest props selling for $300 and $200, with the other 11 prob bringing in around $300 or so. Brosnan will be $500+, Craig will be $300+ the rest of the autos at least $400+...there is $1800 right there.

Does the archive box come with both Craig auto cards? i.e. the full bleed auto and the dual auto / costume card? I guess that would up the value?

I am not sure. If it does, then the $2500 mark isn't that far off of a estimate. Based on the wording on the RA website, it sounds like the only two things it is missing is the 3 case incentive and a base set

Still something of a higher price point than previous archive boxes, which have seemed to be in the $1500 - $2000 range.

Now Mission Logs has been out a couple of days what are people's thoughts? I don't have the base set in hand but the blue logo motif (as used on the promos and the binder). I think RA nicked this design from the Quantum of Solace DVD menu! The chase cards are of the usual quality we've have come to expect and the new 'Bond, James Bond' set is a welcome addition. Although it solely features just Bond, the appearance of each actor does change dramatically from film to film (see: Sean Connery's assorted toupées). That said I am getting a little bored of the constant black & white imagery and crave a little more colour. Femme Fatales is the best chase set in this release by far. The Vintage Bond case-topper is a great card too although it will be a bugger trying to match up this card to the VB1-VB5 set I have which all have the same number! As I have said previously, I think the auto run gives a nice spread across all styles. As a 40th collector I am pleased to see there are no cards going for silly money. The very limiteds are mostly in the $30 region with one or two around the $50 mark. The vast majority is in the $7-$15 region, so how can I possibly complain? Lots of nice new cards at affordable prices. My one quibble however, and it is a big one, is card A182 which bears Kenneth Tsang's signature but has a picture of Daryl Kwan (General Han). It is very dissapointing to see such a sloppy error, especially given the Will Yun Lee dulication in the last set. I know Die Another Day got some bad press but has nobody watched the film at Rittenhouse or are Die Another Day signers cursed??? I will begrudgingly add A182 to the collection to fill the gap, but personally I hope Rittenhouse reissue this card (with the SAME numbering) but featuring the Tsang's likeness and collector's can keep the current card as a curiosity piece. I think it would be worth doing as Tsang seems a willing signer and he was a good character in the film. Frankly I'm puzzled as to why he signed these cards at all. Apart from Craig and Brosnan the full-bleeds seem well priced as well, although I'm finding the large asking prices for Michael Madsen a little surprising as he doesn't seem to be a short print. Brosnan has wildly fluctuating prices, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. While I'm at it, I'm always pleased to see great signers like Craig on board, but Jesus, his signature really is quite ****. At least his 9-case card is going for (relatively) reasonable figures. Surprisingly I'm actually quite excited to add some relics to my collection for the first time in a long time. There are several decent pieces from the Brosnan era available for next to nothing and they are great looking cards. I have a box on the way (my first since Dangerous Liaisons) and it is seriously hard abstaining from eBay to wait and see what I pull first. Fingers crossed for that Brosnan card!!!

I definatly do not understand why somebody would sign a big pile of cards that are of someone else. ____________________ Come, it is time for you to keep your appointment with The Wicker Man.

If I am not mistaken aren't the Bond Allies cards misnumberd. The checklist shows that the new cards start out at 35 and I already 35 & 36 from a previous release. I don't have the cards in hand, so maybe the checklist is wrong.

I don't know if this is widely known or not, but first time Bond signer Catherina Von Schell, who is listed as a VL here also worked under the name Catherine Schell. That is the same Catherine Schell who played Maya on Space 1999. So I picked up the autograph not so much for her small Bond appearance, but for the Space 1999 connection. Figured I'd mention it since there may be other fans who don't know it.

She also appeared in the first series of Space: 1999 under her Bond name Catherina von Schell as villain/interesting alien of the week. Dr Who fans will want that card to for her appearance in the Tom Baker story 'City of Death' where she was Catherine Schell playing the part of Countess Scarlioni. So that could be quite a popular auto card
