great cards Smile

I'm envious of the Transformers Sketch.

I recently purchased a Hal Sparks auto on ebay - thought it was a pretty cool looking.

She wasn't featured in the movie, but in the book, she's the student who became a snitch and told Umbridge about Dumbledore's Army.

Going to have to go to a card shop soon & try my luck with an opened box.

I've enjoyed other peoples excitement at their great finds, so I'm going to see for myself. Hoping to report back positively in the near future. Smile

Following my post above, I decided to buy some random packs.
Results are as follows:
5 packs of Family Guy Season 2 - nothing.
4 packs of Transformers - nothing.
4 packs of LOTR Masterpieces - nothing.
4 packs of Charmed Forever - PW12 robe worn by Rose McGowan as Paige. Dance

These were all sets I wouldn't normally have bought and I specifically chose them for their diversity. I was reallly impressed by them all, and the real surprise was how I enjoyed the base cards as much as the special. Will probably now end up buying many more.
Oh well, it's only money...

I had a rare opportunity to buy a couple packs the other day. One pack of the Complete Bond yielded several nice cards and a Dangerous Liasons Expansion insert.

From five packs of 24: Season 4 Expansion I got a costume card: C1. Jack Bauer numbered 62/90 and about 30% of the base set.

I bought the last 5 packs from a box of Buffy 10th Anniversary today. I got Forever F4, and PW11 - Kennedy's top and pants Big Grin

On the swatch for Kennedy's pants, there's a loose seam running over half of it. It doesn't show up on pictures though, but it looks pretty cool Thumb Up

I can only find them at one of my favorite internet stores.

I'd give you the link, Sarah, if you want. I think they ship overseas.

Nice pulls Chris. Thumb Up

I pulled L2 from 4 loose packs from a box picked out of curiosity about this set. I'm not a big Buffy fan but these are nice cards.

Bought three packs from my comics shop today of Buffy: 10th and pulled the Dawn Pajamas PW-10. I LOVE IT! (Michelle Trachtenberg is one of my favorite Buffy actors now- after having met her a few weeks ago...)

I tried my luck with Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix today. Started with 2 packs and got Costume card C8 in the first pack, Luna Lovegood 060/320. Tried 2 more packs, nada, then 2 more for the road and got the Cho Chang autograph redemption card.

I don't collect costume cards anymore but if there's 1 I'm tempted to keep it's this one, I love the Luna character and even bought the autograph redemption card, my first ever Harry Potter auto.

Question to those buying loose packs.

Do you Choose the packs?
or do you just accept the packs given to you by the shopkeeper?

In the shop I frequent they keep the boxes behind the counter but let people pick the packs but they make sure nobody feels or bends the packs. My personal favorite method is to buy 2 packs at a time, get 2 from the center of a row and if there is nothing I get 2 more from the same row, the middle again but 1 up and 1 down from the first 2 and so on. It seems the best way, the big card seems to rarely be the top or bottom pack (but not never). If I hit early and there is more than 1 big card per box I move to the 2nd row and repeat. It seems to work better than random % would . Once in a while the big card is the top or bottom pack and I end up opening a bunch of packs. lol

I choose packs, though sometimes the choice is made for me- one store I go to puts a few packs out at a time, but I do have good luck there at times. In fact today I was there and I grabbed two of the four Buffy 10th packs they had out and pulled a PW-5 Xander Dual costume. So happy. Smile

I love Xander/Nick Brendon too. Smile
