Has Madonna's character of Verity in the Bond film Die Another Day ever appeared on a Rittenhouse trading card?

.........and if not, why not?

I would guess she would not release her likeness rights.

I remember Steve saying on the Rittenhouse boards that they continue to ask for permission every few years and they are denied every time.

Madonna or her people will not allow her likeness to be used, even if it's just a base or chase card.

I'm sure i have seen Madonna on a trading card. I think it was a music set, could have been a promo card.

As for the the Panini Smash Hits sticker, they never had to ask Madonna's camp for permission because that particular image was taken by one of the many press photographers on scene when Madonna was a guest on the German tv show "Wetten Dass..?" on February 28th, 1998.

Madonna is also all over the Dick Tracy set issued by Topps when the movie came out.

I think I remember her being on some adult cards from her nude photo shoot. I don't know if it was Playboy or some other set. That just to say that I don't think image control is the issue unless she changed her mind.

I'm thinking that the adult shots were a 3-card Penthouse B&W subset like the Venessa Williams subset. Roll Eyes

Yep, that's right. They've used the photos that were first published in the September 1987 issue of Penthouse. Those images were taken by photographer Herman Kulkins back in 1977 when Madonna was an 18-year-old University of Michigan dance student and Madonna had signed a standard model release that gave Herman Kulkens the right to sell, print, publish, or disseminate the photographs.
