I have a swag of 1995 Marvel overpower game cards . How do I find the promo cards other than the ones marked one per pack, there seem to be others on E Bay but to me they are just the same as the base cards thanks

Wish I could help, but I have no idea. There are a lot of 'dead' ccg groups on facebook though if someone here can't help I'm sure someone there can. Not sure what the accuracy is, but this is what AI says: Below is a list of known promotional (promo) cards from the 1995 Marvel OverPower card game, along with details on how to identify them as promos rather than regular cards from the base set. The original 1995 set (often called the "Marvel Premiere" set by collectors) didn’t have as many promos as later expansions, and they were primarily distributed through specific channels like comic books, magazines, or mail-away offers. Identification relies on their unique distribution, design differences, or physical traits compared to the standard 346-card set. Known 1995 Marvel OverPower Promo Cards Original Marvel "Any Hero" Specials (Comic Book Inserts) Cards: "Warning" "Gamma Terror" "Power Leech" "Snikt" "Webbing" Distribution: Inserted into Marvel comics dated October 1995 (e.g., Amazing Spider-Man #406, Uncanny X-Men #325, Fantastic Four #407, X-Men #45, Wolverine #94). One card per comic, randomly distributed. How to Tell: These are "Any Hero" Specials, meaning they lack a specific character logo or name (e.g., no "Spider-Man" or "Wolverine" branding), unlike regular Specials which are tied to one character. Their effects are generic and usable by any hero (e.g., "Gamma Terror: Remove 1 hit from any hero’s Permanent Record"). Not part of the base set’s 195 Special cards; they were exclusive to these comics. Physically identical to regular cards (same size, stock), so origin is key. Web-Headed Wizard "Any Hero" Special Card: "Web-Headed Wizard" Distribution: Inserted in Wizard Magazine #50 (October 1995). How to Tell: Another "Any Hero" Special, usable by any character, with no character-specific branding. Unique name referencing Wizard Magazine, not a typical Marvel-themed ability. Exclusive to this magazine; not in booster packs or the base set. Oversized Hero Placards (Mail-Away Offers) Cards: Captain America Hulk Iron Man Spider-Man Wolverine (Possibly others, depending on offer) Distribution: Available via mail-away offers from Wizard Magazine #52 (December 1995) or InQuest Magazine. Required sending in a coupon and payment (e.g., $5 for five cards). How to Tell: Oversized at 5" x 7" (compared to regular 2.5" x 3.5" cards), making them physically distinct. Designed as display pieces, not for gameplay, though they mimic the layout of regular Character cards (stats, bio, portrait). Obtained only through mail-away, not packs or decks. General Identification Tips Not in Base Set: Promo cards aren’t part of the 346-card checklist (39 Characters, 195 Specials, 28 Power Cards, 42 Universe Cards, 42 Mission Cards) from the 1995 set’s booster packs and starter decks. If it’s not on that list, it’s likely a promo. Unique Distribution: Promos came from comics, magazines, or mail-aways, not retail packs or decks. Knowing where you got the card is a big clue. Design Clues: "Any Hero" Specials are a promo hallmark in 1995—regular Specials are always character-specific. Oversized cards are exclusively promo items. No Explicit Promo Mark: Unlike some later games, 1995 OverPower promos don’t have a "Promo" stamp or foil treatment—identification hinges on context and subtle differences. Notes This list focuses on the 1995 premiere set. Later expansions (e.g., PowerSurge, Mission Control) introduced more promos with clearer identifiers (e.g., flame borders, unique logos), but those came in 1996-1997. Some promos are poorly documented due to their limited runs, so this list might not be exhaustive.

I haven't used this in a long time, but this link should take you to a (probably now defunct) website that has all Overpower cards listed on it (Marvel, DC, and Image). I think it also includes promos, if I am not mistaken. There are extensive checklists for each series. Hopefully this is some help: https://overpower.ca/archive/C...list/CHECKLISTS.html
