Anyone here use TCDB for checklist or looking up cards? Trying to update some mid 90s sets on that site. While the site’s functionality is fantastic, the non-sport section has a few issues! Looking up by name in some of these sets is impossible. Example would be the mid 90s Wildstorm sets or The Valiant sets where someone pulled a name from somewhere and assigned it to a card randomly. I went looking for the character Pitt and finally found them all associated with Brad Pitt! Just curious as to how others may use it for reference and tracking.

I use TCDB to keep track of many of my cards/sets, and I really like it. I have found some issues now and then, but they are very good atfixing/updating things.

I too have started to keep track of my cards using the site. In my opinion the big problem for Non-Sport card collectors is that it was started as a "trading" site for North American Sports cards then subsequently upgraded to be a giant checklist for all cards and unfortunately accuracy has taken a hit due to the large number of contributors. I have reported and had corrected several errors and I have several in the pipeline as it takes time to prepare especially as I prefer to back up my corrections with documentary evidence. I utilise the same procedure for submitting unlisted entries although it is not that many as yet. I have also had some entries refused and some have been waiting a response for several months if not longer. ____________________

One of the bigger problems for the non-sport side has been accuracy and validation. Lots of wrong names (some come from Jeff’s House of Checklists) and few people verifying checklists and names. At one point last week, there were 1900+ sets where names and links were unverified. I’m in the process of adding the 1994 & 1996 Madman sets and finding a lot of artists without verified names in the database. As I add the ones for these sets, lots of other cards (including those from Star Wars Galaxy) are automatically assigned to the newly added names. Would have hoped that they would have already been created! And yes, lots of checklists and card images are missing!
