I got into Facebook discussion about Vanilla Ice's 1st card. The other party was wanting to sell his "Yo! MTV Raps" as his "rookie" card (whether NS cards have "rookie cards" is a different discussion [they don't]); I maintain (from 34 year old memory) that the Superstars Musicards set preceded it (both came out in 1991), and his cards from that set were his 1st. Topps also had the "Kings of Rap" set that year, but I think it was last of the three.
Does anyone have Sell Sheets for these sets that would possibly include release dates? Or any other documentation?

I have no documentation, but I would swear the Superstars set came out before the Raps set, for what it's worth.

Check this listing for a picture of the back of the display box.

You'll see the contest began on March 1st, 1991, presumably, the day the cards were released since the contest cards were found inside the packs. The prizes had to be claimed by Dec. 31st, 1991.

On the other hand, here's the Yo! MTV Raps box, and the contest rules are the same, beginning March 1st, ending December 31st, 1991.

Perhaps these were simultaneous releases.
