Although I used to subscribe to N S U in
the early days it was only for about 3 years even then shipping costs for International readers was very expensive $60 US for 4 issues with the NZ exchange rate $1.20.
The NZ agent used to sell at $NZ17 per copy local shipping wich I thought was quiet reasonable considering the price of Wizard and Collect at the time.
I used to like the Gummie awards items.
Plus it influenced my decisions on purchasing certain sets of cards
It certainly influenced me into becoming a promo card collector especially Inkworks promo cards.
Farewell NSU
Beckett must be losing money on it as no company would discard a profitable item.
Although I have not subscribed for a few years it is sad to see it go.

Being in New Zealand and having to pay those eye popping postal rates, dropping your subscription kind of makes sense. But here in the USA, paying $35 a year to keep NSU, our hobby's premier magazine alive, was a modest investment indeed.

Now all we have left is The Wrapper magazine (the newsprint magazine that focusses on Nonsport vintage cards). I thought it was "safe" (or at least safer) from facing a similar fate, but tonight I finally got around to reading the letters to the editor (Les Davis) from the last issue. In it, Les mentions he LOST $955 in the previous month's issue. So let's all be aware, NO ONE is safe from the increasing printing and postage costs. If you support what a magazine does, keep subscribing. It's the LEAST we can do for the hobby.

For those wanting to subscribe, you can Paypal Les $32 via paypal at: LesWrap@comcast.net
or call him for credit card orders at (630) 877-7715. (You can also find out more at their website, www.TheWrapperMagazine.com
