I just have a bad feeling that some "new" members are gonna pop up and claim them for themselves and magically disappear, never to be heard from again.

Sorry. Being in my line of work makes one very pessimistic!

I maybe totally wrong here so wait for official confirmation but i,m guessing that you had to be a registered member at the time of the announcement.

That is the policy on Secret Santa but no rules have been set on this, yet.
