I was poking around the site today. It was great seeing those Dark Horse party invitations which I hadn't seen before and I didn't know about the TPF-8 variant (The Pin-Up Factory promo set).

What are the differences between the two? I looked at the website but I don't see the distinction

The text at the bottom of the front. It is described on the page.

I was checking the site again a few hours ago, looking at the Creator's Universe cards. Todd has images of that 3-card strip. It looked somewhat familiar. I think I saw it in the 90's but forgot what it looked like by the time I started looking for it recently. Great to see it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: catskilleagle,

I used to go nuts looking for those CREATORS UNIVERSE promos. I never did find them all. I literally had dreams about opening CU packs. Looking at my binders, I moan over the holy grail cards I've had to sell in the last few years. I don't even want to think about it!

Nice! Most of those Creator's Universe promo singles are cheaper/easier to find though I've noticed the Stronghold one seems to be harder to find these days. Some of them have error variants with reversed (upside-down) backs but not everyone goes after all of those.

I saw that you have most of the Avatar Projects promos shown. I have one of the signed/numbered "Hardbodies" cards (67/80 - just two numbers off from the one you show). I thought it might've been a show exclusive in my area as the company was based in Santa Clara. I don't have any of the other signed/numbered cards/panels. I once met a company representative who was selling leftover stuff at a local show. He had sold some already so I got just a couple of promo singles and an oddball uncut 2-card promo panel (Tanda Girls Intro #2 and a Campaign '94 card) will send you images and post here). I think he had some regular sets left but I didn't buy any. I've picked up just a few of those 3-card uncut panels (one Satisfaction, three Erector Set) over the years.

please do send whatever ones show on PCE as image needed. I wrote to the guy back in the 90s and he sent me one of everything he did, which included the signed cards, but he didn't say anything about them. Just that he gave all his stuff out at shows and wherever he was doing something with the cards. He also sent me some legal letter telling me I will be sued if I blah...blah....blah....

I was looking at your Willie Mosconi Card Collection listing. Over the years, I have seen several #2 and #5 cards and just one #3 but no #1 nor #4. I guess it's a question for the "Do They Exist?" thread. Does anyone have one or both of those or has anyone seen either? I have a feeling they exist. I found that #3 about 10 years ago - think it was on Ebay.

I was looking at the Felix (the artist) entries. There's an uncut acetate version of that Felix II uncut 9-card sheet numbered out of 1000 and it doesn't have the backs either and that was for sale. There's also a white plastic card version but I don't know if it's blank or if it has the regular or promo backs. I would assume the sheet you're showing is something that was/is for sale. The different numbering out of 300 tells me that it might have been a show exclusive but I don't know that for sure. I've seen two of his cards hand-numbered and that's what I assumed about those. I can ask him about that.

Gday Todd, awesome job with the website mate... I just emailed you some Tempo Promo card images of the ones you were looking for, plus an image of the unmentioned Trent Panteli (Project Manager) promo. Let me know if they are suitable? Cheers mate Cardscout182

Jess, I think on Willie Mosconi that I have a set of 5 promos that Bill DeFranzo gave me 25 years ago. I will check

If so, you should scan those and send them to Todd. Bill has been gone 10 years already. He would've gotten a kick out of Todd's site.

He like my old book, so I think he would approve, yeah. Bill lived about an hour from me when I was in Maine and we'd see each other here and there at little local shows, but he never ever once invited me to see his collection. I am pretty sure Fran Ross would have liked the site as well. I miss her as well.

I checked my binder and the only Willy Mosconi promo I could find was #2. Maybe I confused it with that Billiards promo set that you also posted scans of. I have that set.

New additions to the database can be seen on the homepage. I'm trying to add to it multiple times a week while I tighten up the site. Hopefully soon I can get the money to re-ire the developer to add more search fields, first being a single card search by the name of the person on the card or character. But that may be a little while.

Hey Todd, I saw someone on Blowout say he searched for a few obscure promos to test the site. You had them. He should've said which ones he looked for. I tried to "stump the band" with the Original Man promo but you had it. Nice.

I never heard of the Original Man card nor do I have it. Looked on ebay and there are 3 auctions for the Gold # 0 comic with the card. Each auction has a starting bid of $ 150 !!! Is the card hard to find ?

It's another obscure comic insert you pretty much have to stumble upon unless you read or heard out any of the Omega 7 comics back then. Maybe 25 years ago, I found a sealed Darkforce comic with a card (also from Omega 7 comics) in a bargain box for a couple of bucks. I heard there was a foil variant of the card but I've never seen it. A few days ago, a sealed Original Man comic with a card sold for $9.99 plus shipping. Sellers have been talking them up as rare-and-therefore-valuable so they are trying to get at least $30 for sealed ones. So yeah, it's incredibly hard to find as a single and I have known about it for years so your best bet is to look for sealed comics.

I have gone back to this site countless times . To check out cards that I have with #s over 1 to check for sets etc and have not been disapointed with the results or information given about them .Plus the pictures give me more info on what I have to buy and keep an eye out for. As i live in New Zealand anything on my local NZ site are rarer and harder to procure EG possibly 8 or 10 times more expensive than E Bay some of the prices being asked are eye watering I actually think that there is a seller buying off E Bay and reselling on our Trade Me site I do not follow sales of cards on it. Although a couple of yeard ago i managed to pick up a Lost in Space reprint promo set for $20 NZ. Wich was a pleasent surprise . But all in all I am very impressed by the information supplied . Better than the book . Also I think that I am the only Promo card collector in NZ and are mostly interested in earlier promo cards EG inkworks era etc and Star Wars W V up to 2000 And there are not many shows that I can go too there is a company called the Cardshow Company that dose hold shows in the main centers at quarterly intervals although I have never been to one hopefully I will one day. I live very remotely and a trip to the rarer held shows is expensive getting there with gas and motel and now mostly pokemon .
