Just got my shiny new Fantastic Four cover issue which had the added bonus of two Time Bandits promos as well as the rest. Sadly, NSU has also fallen into the disappointment of "Your money is great, but you can't have the goodies" trap. A competition that's only for the USA and Canada.

Got my Fantastic Fantastic Four Cover Issue today, comes with 5 promos! Time Bandits P1 (Long Dog Cards), RR Parks 12th Annual Halloween Event P1 (RR Parks Cards), Creatures of Cosmos P1 (Monsterwax), Peanuts Playpaks P5 (Cryptozoic), Game of Thrones The Great Houses P2 (Rittenhouse Archives). Articles include Top 10 WW II Sets, Mutoscope Cards, a Rundown on Summer Shows, and more. The competition Graham refers to is for original art by Joe Simko from Craniacs.

Are the promo cards being part of the Craniacs competition new promo cards or those that have already released? As a promo card collector I would like to know if I am missing out and will I need to look on the secondary market in the future. I also wonder on how many overseas readers have been excluded. ____________________

I took a chance and stopped at my local B&N (now the only one within about 25 miles) and was happily surprised to see this Fantastic Four issue with its 5 promos. Yes, Hammer, I can't even remember an issue when there were 5 promos inside before. It's great to get even just one. I liked the "Jaws" editorial. In his memoir of his time at Topps during the 70's, Gary Gerani didn't say why the company didn't do a "Jaws" set. "Jaws 2" was a pretty good movie. "Jaws 3-D" was not a good movie and 'Jaws: The Revnge" was outright terrible - maybe the worst movie I've ever seen. It's about a giant shark that somehow follows an airplane to the Bahamas to get revenge. What? Great article on "The Fantastic Four" in cards. I remember that Oct/Nov 2008 NSU issue with the FF cover because ofBill DeFranzo's memorable article on the arguable 20th anniversary of promo cards. Interesting article on card shows or at least collectibles shows where you can find cards. I've found cards at records shows/stores and even a car show.
