Got up to date with the cardcasts today.

Great work Paul, really looking forward to the show but it will mean a really early start!

In case anyone was wondering, I am currently recording links and editing the next episode of the podcast, the Memorabilia show, and it should be online sometime next week (assuming I don't get distracted!)
I will be announcing the "Best of 2008" poll but, if you cannot wait until then, here are the details!

Pretty much the same as before - work out your three favourite sets (in no particular order) released between January 1st and December 31st 2008 and email them to me at the UK CardCast email address (ukcardcast@googlemail.com) with the subject "Best of 2008" with your name and, if you so wish, your reasons why.
Anyone can vote, but only one voting email per person and no-one involved with a card manufacturer can vote for their own company's cards; they can vote for card releases from other companies, but not their own.

You have from now until 31st January 2009 to vote, and I will be announcing the results in a special episode in February.

This year, there will be a 'trophy' for the manufacturer who produced the set voted number 1 and I hope that I might get an interview with a representative of the winning company if they are interested in participating!

I am also working on an incentive to 'encourage' votes! 9 voters will be selected at random to receive a specially commissioned printed card featuring artwork by Patrick Hamill (aka Patdata)! There will not be many of these cards as I cannot afford to bulk print and post them, so if you would like to be in with a chance of receiving one, make sure you include your real name and postal address in your voting email.
Au Res.,
Paul

Is there any chance of a definitive list for us to vote from. Although the newer issues are quite clear in my mind, the ones issued in December 07 / January 08 are a little confusing, if you see what I mean.

Regards

Steve,
Good point - unfortunately I don't have a list to hand - Short of going through back issues of NSU, if anyone can help with a list (I think someone did this last year) I'd be obliged!
Au Res.,
Paul

If you look in the When do these cards come out section of the last 6 issues of NSU you will have them all.

OK, Episode 14 is now online and should filter through to the various places from which it can be downloaded overnight. There is a postscript to the episode, so please continue listening after the closing credits and music!

Just a reminder that if you haven't voted in the podcast "Best of 2008" poll, there is still plenty of time! Details as above (and as mentioned in Episode 14) - unfortunately, I don't have a list of all the sets released in 2008 but if you bought any boxes or cases this year and it has a copyright date of 2008, it can count!

Paul, Odd. I just tried downloading it directly from the website and also playing it online and it works fine. Could you try downloading it again and see what happens?

Thank you JTH! Son't forget you agreed to appear on a future episode... Big Grin

I am getting ready to record the next episode (literally - I'm posting this whilst I wait for my interviewes to become available online!) but I wanted to remind anyone who hasn't already voted in the UK CardCast "Best of 2008" poll that it's not too late - you have until the end of January to email your vote in to me. For more details, see posts above of visit the podcast website! (or listen to the about to be recorded Episode 15 when it goes online in about a week or so!)
Au Res.,
Paul

Episode 15 is now online and should be on iTunes (and other RSS feeds/podcast directories) shortly! It features Harris and I chatting with Alan Biegel (Editor-in-Chief of NSU) about the past year and looking forward to what 2009 will bring and features a fair amount of Harris-baiting!
