Don't jinx it for yourself. Wink

I'd like everything be easier to get but I didn't see any nasty surprises in terms of rarity. In fact some cool cards are less rare that I thought they may be. I'm very excited at the thought of a 'Limited' Shirley Eaton WOB card for about a tenner I reckon. And I think it's great that RA got Berenice Marlohe as a 'Limited' for her 40th and now WOB cards. Here's hoping her inevitable FB cards are plentiful too.

I agree, I would also like to see a FB GoldenEye Joe Don Baker and now you mention it I'm surprised we haven't had a Whitaker FB from him either. I reckon they'll come out some day.

The GOLDENEYE Wade was in the very first 40th set (believe it's A2) so it's about time FB got one.

There use to be a distinction between costume or wardrobe cards and prop cards, but now the term "relic" has become the go to word. Being old school, any card containing a material swatch from a suit, jacket, tie, socks or anything of that nature is still a costume card to me. Patches taken off of a costume are true patch cards and anything cut or taken from screen items that are not costumes is a prop card.

I like the Bond prop cards overall, but a few of these "relic" cards that are listed are truly just costume cards, probably one color costume cards at that. These are usually not of much interest unless the number made is very low. Several of the other prop items are nice choices and if their display on the card is done well, I would agree that they should at least maintain their value.

The only problem I always have with Bond relic cards that are from props is that they can be pretty easy to spot in packs, so buy the box or case or get to that open box before anyone else does. : Wink

Oh he knows how, he's just lazy.

I was in London a few months back and went in Turnbull & Asser for a nosey around - its a very historic shop but too expensive to buy anything! They have a wall in there with autographed pictures celebrities have given to the shop thanking them for the shirts they've had made. On the wall was a Casino Royale shot Craig had signed to them and it had the BEST signature of his I have ever seen, I have never seen one that good with the first and last names both perfectly legible. Seems over the years his signature has deteriorated quite a bit.

I don't get why some people just don't seem to take pride in their signatures. I saw Karl Urban at a convention this weekend gone and he's a great bloke but his auto is just terrible.

I met Daniel a couple of years back in a relaxed setting. He just doesn't care to do autographs. He wouldn't personalize, signed it "DC" and barely said a word.

Top 5
Living Daylights (Score, Dalton, amazing opening, Cold War setting. Who cares if the villains are a bit weak)
Goldeneye (a perfect Bond film)
Casino Royale
The Spy Who Loved Me
From Russia with Love

Bottom
Tough, but Die Another Day I struggle with. Makes Moonraker look highly plausible.

Honourable mention
Licence to Kill, just for another great Dalton performance.

Over rated.
Not sure, Skyfall?, dare I say!

I actually think Tomorrow Never Dies is the most underrated Bond film. I love it, actually gets better for me with every rewatch. Probably the reason I'm chomping at the bit so much for this Brosnan auto! Brosnan is my favorite Bond and I find all of his Bond films very watchable.

Best
GoldenEye - The perfect Bond film IMO.
Goldfinger
From Russia With Love
The Spy Who Loved Me
Casino Royale/Tomorrow Never Dies

Worst
Quantum of Solace
A View To A Kill/Octopussy (the two most boring)
Diamonds are Forever.

Underrated
All of Brosnan's post GoldenEye (they seem to get a lot of flak)
Living Daylights & License to Kill - Dalton was an excellent Bond and sometimes doesn't get the recognition he deserves
Live & Let Die

Overrated
Skyfall - Way too many plot holes, underused villain, wasted Bond girl.

Getting a couple of cases. I really fancy a few of the relics and autos, so should get something good or at least tradable!

That's what I was figuring, but earlier in this thread guys figured it would be expensive and 1.00 a card and the sky was falling so lets panic RUN .If you wait it will be even cheaper, with 9000-10000 boxes there will be plenty

just as I predicted, 9 FB auto's in a case including the 2 repeats and 2 of the behind the scenes that don't fit into thematic packs, I didn't even get any of the MOONRAKER girls Frown
my only saving grace was the Sylvia Trench From Russia

just realised, of the 40th + women of, the card I most wanted was Oona Chaplin, I didn't get either, it would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Comparing this to the 2012-13 Bond sets, is this much larger in terms of the amount of different relics and autos ? I know there are parallels and 3 subsets

The reason I ask is because I see people selling master sets for $ 6,000 (!) which is 3 times what I have seen prior Bond sets sell for

I do not wish to compare checklists. Can someone give me an opinion on this ?

OK, the 2013 Bond set had 64 relics and 42 autos in the packs

This one has 51 autos, and 19 relics but the relics seem to be at least twice as hard to pull (1 per 60 packs)

So I guess what makes this so tough is the 3 subsets of LALD, TND and Thunderball ?

Thoughts on this set?

Well, first of all, I am pleased to see my prediction early in the thread was accurate: even looking at early listings the throwback sets can all be had for £30 or so. I imagine the 9,500 box run helped with that.

Looking at the images used on the Casino Royale and Tomorrow Never Dies sets, it's nice to see that lots of new and fresh images/angles have been used for often seen shots. I haven't seen any of the Thunderball and Live And Let Die cards to comment.

I think the autos are a nice selection and the props are very cool but have some optimistic pricing. On the prop front I think it was very lazy to use the same image of the Lotus Esprit on both prop cards.

I like that the binder is the same style as the 2008 Archives release and the new Rewards card of Severine is a nice looking card. My only disappointment is that despite all the expansion cards we didn't get any for the 40th Anniversary set (x3 story cards, Extras, Villain and Women cards) but they'll come eventually.

I'm not going to be getting it (too expensive) but given the plot of Skyfall, I think the dual Dench and Craig incentive auto is a very nice looking card.
