BCWI came onto the board to check out the thread cos I still get the auto-notifications of posts. I went to the Chatter section and couldn't find it. I look in Card Talk's Greatest Hits and here it is! Where it deserves to be. Thanks to Harris(?) for eventually moving it, which he always seemed loathe to do even when I pleaded. It's f
antastic

Don NortonAndrew, welcome back, wondered where you've been, this, the greatest of all Card Talk threads had it's humble beginnings in your back yard. Little did those ants that you slew that day know they would be immortalized on Card Talk. Here's to them, and you Andrew, for the many hours of mindless enjoyment you have provided for all of us.

Ants are better than cockroaches or mice...just a little perspective.

Stop it, Don, you're making me blush.

Quaint1I never thought I'd make a serious contribution to this topic - but here goes!
Whilst browsing the BBC website I came across
THIS PAGE which is about a series of radio programmes entitled "A Year in the Life of Ants" Apparently someone spent a year recording the activities of two colonies of wood ants.
If you have RealPlayer installed, you can even listen to the programmes on the website!

BoldlygoneI went to do some weeding in the garden today. I got my kneeler from the shed. Trowel in hand i knelt on it and then noticed an ant on my knee. I gave the kneeler a shake and hundreds of tiny white eggs or pupae fell out followd by a large number of very angy ants.
I think i made some enemys.

Don NortonI try not to post to this thread, since some people think it's a terrible waste of time, and totally useless.
That's the fun of it.
Last week our little dog, a teacup poodle, went out in the back yard. She was sniffing around a corner of the patio and looked like she was eating something, so I had her come in.
The dog sits on my lap while I read, and she just kept shaking her head and rubbing her face against my leg, so I looked to see what was wrong. She had dozens of little red ants all over her face, ears and mouth, she had been eating ants on the patio.
So, I had to pull the ants out of the matted fur, outside of course.
Just wanted to let you all know I have an ant-eating poodle.

starwolf1001Don, this "poodle" doesn't have a long thin nose and thick bushy tail, does she?

Was this guy selling (dead) parrotts too?

July 11, 2005, 07:19 PM
Don NortonWhy yes, BCW, he was, the parrot was nailed to it's perch, so he looked okay, but it turns out it was just freshly dead...
You might have stopped in there? It's right next to a cheese shop, the finest Cheese Shop in the land.
