JOHN LEVITTWhen I scanned the Inkworks cards I posted on another thread it took me less than 5 minutes, I scanned them (2 together) using software that came free with my current printer, then separated them using software that came from a previous printed (pre 2010) with a final edit using Windows media (Windows 10 or 11) then uploading via Postimage. It has probably taken me longer to write this about scanning.

chesspiecefaceHere's a 2011 Americana card of Robert Carradine, who wrapped it up at 71.
From an acting dynasty family, he's best known for playing Lewis in the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies. I remember watching Robert in a Western movie when I was a kid, "The Long Riders", and it's the rare film that could boast no less than four sets of acting brothers (Carradine, Quaid, Keach, Guest) in the cast.
Rest in peace.

catskilleagleOn the late news it was announced that singer/songwriter/political activist, Country Joe McDonald, passed away on March 7 at the age of 84. He became a legend at Woodstock playing with his band, Country Joe and the Fish (also doing a solo set). He went solo soon after. While he never had a big hit song and may have faded a bit in the national memory, he remained huge in the Bay Area, a long-surviving member of 60's counterculture.

catskilleagleI see Raven reacting to the news of Chuck Norris' passing. Sad day. I'll have to reply to her later. Here's a card:

catskilleagleYou beat me to it, Bill. I have an image of that card too (a smaller version) and was going to post it in case Tommy's link fails at some point.
It's a great photo of her.

Bill MullinsBetter to post an image than a link to an image.
March 25, 2026, 04:10 PM
catskilleagleYeah, it is better because some links fail and rather quickly. I see one of my links failed maybe partly because the site I linked to is old or lesser-maintained (don't really know) but I was going to post an update to that anyway with my own image. In the case of TCDB, I often have to wait for the image(s) to come up.

chesspiecefaceHere's Patrick Muldoon as Zander in "Starship Troopers" on a card from the 1997 Inkworks set.
Muldoon died of an apparent heart attack at 57 on Sunday, April 19th. He was, by all accounts, as kind as he was handsome. Rest in peace.

catskilleagleI didn't see a post in this thread about Harry "Chick" Veditz' passing on October 31 of last year. I didn't know him but he was a fellow promo collector and Simpsons collector and I learned that he once owned a cool record store in Baltimore. He continued the promo column in NSU for a few issues after Bill passed away in 2016. From those columns you could tell he knew a lot about promos.

chesspiecefaceMagnate, Mogul, and Man-About-Town Ted Turner has joined the Great Beyond. Via his "superstation" TBS, Turner was responsible for some of the only Major League baseball I was able to watch on TV in the small New Mexico town I grew up in. I've also spent a lot of time watching movies on Turner Classic Movies over the years. He was a great friend to film fans, for sure.
Here he is from 2011 Topps American Pie:
Rest in peace, Captain Outrageous.

Tommy CBritish actor Michael Pennington has died at 82. He was in Return of the Jedi and he also played Sherlock Holmes once. I am guessing he is on some Star Wars cards.
May 11, 2026, 03:22 AM
catskilleagleHere's one of Michael Pennington's autograph cards, this one being from the Star Wars Return of the Jedi Black & White set (Topps, 2020):

chesspiecefaceMoff Jerjerrod, definitely one of the best names in Star Wars. Pennington only began signing for Topps 6-7 years ago, so he was kind of a hold out on cards for whatever reason. Hopefully, he got a nice little windfall for signing in his final years.
