It's noted in the Obituaries thread but here's a card for Terence Stamp who passed away August 17.
Most of us remember him as General Zod in "Superman" and "Superman ll" and as the Chancellor in "The Phantom Menace." Some might remember him from "Elektra" but he was in a great movie, "The Limey," released in 1999. It lost money but it was well-written, well-cast, and well-directed (Steven Soderbergh). Soderbergh actually inserted scenes from a movie that Stamp did in the late 60's when he was a young actor in order to show his character as a young man - and the scenes fit perfectly with the story. Check it out. The movie was promoted with one of the coolest posters I've ever seen.

I read that astronaut, James A. "Jim" Lovell passed away August 7. He was 97. Of course, he was already famous when the movie "Apollo 13" was released. He was played by Tom Hanks.
