Is it possible that after 62 years, people have lost interest ?

Did people not like the new fellow who played the Doctor, that ratings fell dramatically ?

Not lost interest but the stories have been poor

Don't forget that David Tennant has already regenerated as the Doctor so Billie Piper still could be a companion that has regenerated from the other world she was left in.

John, not quite sure what you are suggesting here. With the exceptions of Romana, River Song and Jenny (The Doctor's Daughter), none of the companions have regenerated or are capable of regenerating. At present, all that is known for certain is that Ncuti Gatwa transformed into Billie Piper at the end of the last episode of the most recent series. Hopefully, all will be explained/revealed in the Christmas Special in 2026 that was just announced
