SPOILER ALERT - DON'T READ IF YOU DON"T WANT TO KNOW!

So we are in the middle of a mini heat wave here and I needed to pick a nice air conditioned movie. Jurassic World was the best option, given that it is not that new anymore and was not packed. It has already made a fortune and will undoubtedly be good for its next sequel that was easily set up, so my comments are moot, nevertheless here they are.Big Grin

So the story is the same, only we have thousands of park visitors that pretty much just run around and scream. The raptors had a lot more personality than the actors. Humans were just stereotypes, hero and villain. The two kids did stupid things, but of course survived anyway. There was no comic relief to speak of, unless you want to count Howard running around the jungle in stilettos as a laugher. The story was even more preposterous than usual, with semi-trained raptors, military weapon ideas for hunting terrorists and of course no actual ending.

Good parts: The dinosaurs were very realistic. The fights between raptors, T-Rex and the hybrid were well done, but short. The birds and the helicopter was a good scene, as was the raptors running with the motorcycles. The final fight with the "surprise" late entry was the main attraction.

Bad parts: everything else. The story barely exists. The best actor in it was Judy Greer as the mother, who had like three scenes. There was zero chemistry between Pratt and Howard, but to be fair they had no characters to flesh out anyway. Same annoying kids. The millionaire died in the helicopter and we barely saw it. The Assistant was torn to shreds in front of the boys and no one even mentioned her afterwards. The slimy military man gets his. The wounded guests just sat around calmly waiting to be sent home. The Mad Scientist flew away. The ending came down to expect more lawsuits, and of course another film, since this one grossed so much on so little. Wink

But at least Jurassic World did accomplishment my goal, the air conditioning was awesome. Smile
