The 70 year old "American Pie" singer was arrested in Maine this week for domestic violence

People are still writing essays trying to explain the lyrics of American Pie. DJs used to love playing it because they could walk away for 8 plus minutes.

I dunno, when these guys get to a certain age you would think they would know better. Not accusing one way or the other because it's just an arrest so far, but I remember seeing Paul Simon and his wife on TV after they got hauled into court for a mutual spat that got physical and was eventually resolved. They both just looked silly.

I mean domestic violence at any age is a horrible situation, but when you see these old people that still think it's OK to battle it out, you have to wonder where their head is.

We have seen this so many times before with these celebrities

Guys in their 60s, 70s, whose "glory days" are long behind them, who haven't had significant hits in 30-40 years. Usually alcohol is involved

Paul Simon is one of them, another is David Cassidy of the Partridge Family

Maybe he's still having problems processing the death of Buddy Holly (or perhaps even Vincent Van Gogh).

But seriously, it's a troubling story. Hope both of the parties involved get the help they need.

The order of protection has been dismissed and the case has now been dropped. The McLeans are back together.
