Tough YEAR so far, sadly. Levon Helm from The Band, Dick Clark & Don Cornelius from beloved music shows of the seventies, beautiful Donna Summer, and now Robin Gibb.

A few less stars in that brilliant galaxy we knew can fully shine tonight, but look to where they once blazed, and see the traces of their light.

Rest in peace, Robin.

It was one thing to see stars that your parents grew up pass away, but now that people I've grown up with are passing on, it makes me think about my own mortality.

I was discussing this a few months ago with a friend and it is really difficult to take in the fact that many of my childhood icons have died. (This was before Whitney Houston had died, but after Michael Jackson and Gary Coleman had died) So I totally see your POV on this.
