I was watching a rerun of an episode (Season 23, Episode 3, Hour 3 from 2019) of "Antiques Roadshow" last week and a woman brought in 56 of the 72 cards in the Superman (Gum Inc., 1940) set. The appraiser gave some background on the cards and the way they'd be graded and how those cards would grade in general. He figured the #1 card would grade a 2 or 2.5 and still be worth about $200. He valued the lot at $2500-3500. You can see the segment here:
