First time I have experienced a complete eBay meltdown. Have an auction item I was bidding on, got topped, and can't sign in to increase my bid.

Checked online and it seems that a lot of people can't get on to do anything over the last couple of hours. So you eBay sellers are going to be losing money on all those bidders that can't get at your ending items. And you eBay buyers are going to see your items go away without your best offer.

Wonder what they screwed up now?

The site is up now. I missed the chaos.

I caught an unintended break. I had an auction ending for an item I was watching all week. Got bested on a low bid from some creeper who was doing the $2 up bids. Can't be bothered with bidders who just run up the price an inch at a time.

So I check about 3 hours before the end and find out I can't even sign in. The price is still low for the item value, but me and everybody else can't bid higher. Posts on Downdetector have everything effected and sellers can't do anything either. So I keep trying to sign in periodically.

Finally, 28 minutes before closing I catch the sign-in and I make a high bid because I know I'm not getting back in. Two hours after closing, and this is past midnight now, I find out I won for $1 more than that last low price. Nobody else must have made it in because I got the card for less than half of what I thought it was worth. Yet the payout still wouldn't work until I was able to process just now, 7 hours later.

eBay sellers lost a lot of money on anything that ended last night.

Same thing as last night is happening again. I signed in and can't sign out. eBay thinks I'm a Bot and I'm not the only one. Downdetector is full of posts from people who are stuck. Luckly nothing I'm looking for, so I'm just staying away.

So it seems like I'm the only one here who wants to talk about eBay's problems, but its widespread and still going on. It seems to be an issue with the browser connection. They think people are bots.

Last Sunday night access was denied for hours. Auctions closed without those last minute big bidders. Sellers lost money and buyers lost items. They kind of fixed that, but sign ins are still slow. I was just asked to verify that I am a human again. I did get in after that, so I guess I passed.

I don't know if anybody here is complaining to eBay directly, but if you use it, you should have noticed it. They screwed up something big time.

I don't look around on Ebay every single day but I would say six days on average every week and sometimes for over an hour and then off for a while that day before going back to it for maybe another hour. I haven't run into any problems - just lucky so far.

What does happen to me is when I clear my cache. Suddenly, Ebay doesn't recognize me. I can't buy anything and I have to call in and verify who I am. It's a pain.
