Most likely, and if so, it'll be a set, a sketch, and some other kind of hit for $100 and there'll be around 2,000 of them, like for Jedi.
Not being from the classic trilogy, one wouldn't think it would sell as well as Jedi 3D did (a very fast sellout), but obviously, it'll have some nice sketches in it, and if the autograph lineup has a big signer or two, if might go just as fast. Star Wars items in general seem to be selling very well right now in the buildup to the new movies.

Why did they do this before 3-D versions of Episodes 1 and 2 ?

Are those planned ?

The 3d version of episode 1 came out years ago, I think they called it 3di instead of just 3d. I think it came out even before the ESB set.

Right, it's from around the time Episode 1 was released, so 1999 or 2000. It's 46 cards (as I recall) and two multi-motion chase cards. There was also one promo card.

The technology on them is not as good as today's 3D but was somewhat better than the original 3D set from "Episode 4 A New Hope", which had come out a few years before, around 1994 or 1995.

One would think, since they'll be up to 5 out of 6 with the Sith set.
One thing about the newer trilogy, whether you like the movies or not, they all had terrific lightsaber battles, outer space scenes, and ornate location establishing shots, all of which make for nice 3D cards.

Maybe this is a set that isn't all about the randomly inserted autographs. Maybe it's something for those who enjoy the 3D Widevision line as a whole. Maybe it's for folks who appreciate the somewhat limited nature.

If you're looking for autographs, Chrome is scheduled for right before.

As a dealer, Autos are an aspect I look at in making decisions...1 Auto out of 9 that will bring money doesn't inspire me to drop a few thousand dollars into this.

as for waiting, we have a Boatload of cards coming in August/Sept.
Continuum, Star Trek Voyager, SW ROTS, SW CHROME, SW Force Awakens & plus all the Cryptozoic stuff now...

Being a fan, this list is exciting to me with new signers. I don't care that they're not huge names. But then again, I'm not going to buy a bunch of sets to try to hit them because I know they won't be worth the investment, I'll either trade for them or try the secondary market.

Regarding Bai Ling being in a deleted scene, that doesn't bother me - her character is still canon. Some of my favorite autos from the 30th set are the people that didn't appear in the movies. Smile

The set hasn't released yet, and you can't pre-order them or anything so you don't have any money tied up in it yet. Knowing the list, as Ryan said, you can invest in something else.

I agree with Ted completely this will still be a cool set I plan on getting at least 2. It's about collecting not getting big hits that's not why you should be in the hobby in my opinion dealer or collector. I'm having fun chasing down cards I need for Minions and Stickers for Jurrasic World no big hits there but lots of fun nonetheless! Big Grin

They're only making a few thousand of these. They don't need dealers to sell them. They'll sell out almost immediately without a single dealer purchase, just like Jedi did. This isn't a set meant for dealers, otherwise they'd have made more and pre-sold them at discount.

The last Topps online Star Wars set took several days to sell out. Any one have a date these are due to be available? Last I heard was July 1st which didn't happen.
