H_ToserPhilly Dealer Geary Kaufmann Passes Away
I'm sad to report that Geary Kaufmann has passed away. Geary (and his brother Dan) have long been friends of ours. Geary and Dan came to my parents' house for many, many years when we sold sports and non-sport cards back in the 80s and 90s.
My mother was able to convince Geary to set up at the Philly Show with his great array of vintage cards once the show moved to Allentown. I'll post some pictures that were taken at the various shows below. Unfortunately, they're not great.
I also knew Geary for his involvement with our local record club (Keystone Record Collectors). Many of you know that I collect CDs, in addition to cards, and Geary was a dealer for many years at the show. He was also an officer of the club that ran the show for some time.
Geary will be really missed. He was a first rate guy and a good friend. I feel sorry for his brother Dan and sister-in-law, Louise, and the rest of his family. It's a shame.
If anyone wants to read more, here is a link to the obituary from our local paper:

Scifi CardsSad to hear one of my "neighbors" has passed. I feel for the family who has lost more then we can know.
The hobby has also lost another Vintage Card Dealer. Something that just doesn't get replaced most of the time. He will be missed by many!
