Enterplay announced a new series called Muttles last week at the Dallas Toy Preview. They are billed as "A Whole New Hybreed of Fun" and are based on the designer dog trend with breeds such as Labradoodle, Puggle and Snorkie. The product will carry a suggested retail price of $3.99 per pack and you get a 3" mini-plush, 2 trading cards, a tattoo set, and an adoption certificate with a unique registration code assigned to each Muttle. Owners can register their new puppies at
www.muttles.com (apparently not live yet). Enterplay is calling this
Social Petworking and you can share your page, view the "brag book", and play online games. The series ships in mid-January.
Enterplay says the concept is that putting two parent breeds together creates a result that is "more than twice the fun," the premier assortment includes:
- Labradoodle - Labrador Retriever + Poodle
- Puggle - Pug + Beagle
- Snorkie - Schnauzer + Yorkie
- Germanation - German Shepherd + Dalmation
- Chiweenie - Chihuahua + Dachshund (Weiner Dog)
- Poshie - Pomeranian + Sheltie
Also, I'm told Enterplay showed Transformers 3 as a part of their 2011 line up at the Dallas Toy Preview last week. They are producing trading cards and collectible dog tags. The company will also be producing another Nintendogs series soon, this one called "Nintendogs & Cats".
