Has anyone seen a checklist for the Star Wars Prerelease set from 2023? They are really nice cards but there seems to be a lot of subsets in it. I'm trying to figure out how much an investment it would be to try and collect. With Allender's site (My normal go to) not update in years I don't know where to look to try and find a checklist for this set. Any help would be appreciated. ____________________ Reality's hard, but get used to it. When the dreams die and the nightmare's over, reality is all you've got left.

At least one collector online questioned whether it was licensed - an actual Topps product. I don't see any mention of it on the Topps site. I wanted to see a checklist/overview of the Mandalorian Chrome set from 2022 before I bought a box earlier this year. Topps had sold out but it still had a listing for it with a link to a checklist. Prelease came out last year. For Topps not to have a listing for it, I would also wonder if it was done by Topps. I would research it further and talk to some hardcore Star Wars collectors. Maybe Topps did make it but just took down the listing. I don't know about this one.

Not seeing anything "Topps" on the cards, packs or boxes and no mention of it on Beckett or Cardboard Connection. Box prices certainly are not those of a new Topps release. I'm leaning that this is a stand alone Disney product. Possibly game card related? Question is prerelease to what? Technically Disney could take over card production of their franchises if they chose to.This message has been edited. Or another theory is they may not be legitimate. If this is the case someone has scary production skills and why hasn't this been shut down? https://tradingcardarchives.co...tar-wars-prerelease/ note...don't watch this guys box opening video unless you are having trouble going to sleep. I think he is the Bob Ross of pack busting. ____________________ Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

So far I see 18 QR (Animated character cards) 12 ST (Ships) 27 UR (Movie Scenes) 36 SSR (Technical card on various vehicles) Also see SP, LP, IP and SPK cards but no clue how many there are. Count Dooku is misspelled CIUNT DOOKU which I think is close enough for Disney to freak out about if they are paying attention. ____________________ Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

I see in the text shown in the link the word Yuan is used several times. When I was working in the commercial world the word Yuan was the name of the Chinese currency so is it safe to assume that the cards are from China? I have come across copied products from that area of the world before. Personally I think the cards are unlicensed with a hint of game card in them. regards John ____________________

Disney has been doing some exclusive products in China, so that's where the doubt comes in. They could be legit cards, but until you know they are definitely a licensed product, stay away. When I see sellers in China or product that clearly was produced in China, I'm out. Years and years ago there was this short piece on a news program where they went to a Chinese factory that made art collectibles. These very talented workers were making paintings done by Old Masters and cranking them out like on an assembly line. I couldn't tell the difference. With modern technology, I'm sure they can reproduce most anything. It's not just that the Chinese government doesn't care about copyrights. It's that these industries are state sponsored and coping all manner of collectibles is a profession over there. I don't know if these cards are included in that, but in these cases you are better off to assume guilt until proven innocent.

And this is probably correct but you would think that Disney would at the very least get the product banned on EBAY if it were the case. It even has a separate binder you can buy...this is crazy! This message has been edited. Last edited by: mykdude, ____________________ Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

It's definitely from China. There is a Disney copyright on the box and the cards, but no mention of Topps. If they are knock-offs they are really high production, the cards are simply beautiful. What I find odd is there's no Grogu in the set at all and while some people list a few cards as Mandalorian it seems to me they are actually Boba Fett. It's like the set decided not to use anything from the Mandalorian series. But they do have the Obi-Wan series. Go figure. So far I've located: Ssr 36 cards Ur 27 cards Qr (aka Chibi) 18 cards St 12 cards Tickets 12 cards Pr 9 cards Sp (aka Stamps) at least 9 cards Gp at least 6 cards Vp at least 2 cards Skp Unknown Ssp Unknown MAX Unknown Lp Unknown Ip Unknown Prize Card Coin redemption set 12 coins I don't know how many more types of cards or numbers beyond this and I can't find any info on a checklist. ____________________ Reality's hard, but get used to it.
