If you go to www.usps.com and go to the calculate postage link, you can see how much actual shipping is to Great Britain. If a package weighs about 4 pounds, which is about 1.5 Kilograms, it costs $24.35 to send by air, for instance. It is pretty expensive to ship internationally, plus you will have to consider any custom charges that might occur on top of shipping.

When people discuss issues like this it would be helpful if they provided all of the facts. What exactly are they buying? There's a big difference in buying two boxes of junk wax and two boxes of LOTR Masterpieces. A dealer might be happy to ship junk boxes without tracking, which from the US to UK means either Registered Mail or one of the Express Services, but for something costly they would more than likely insist on it to protect themselves. What type of service was mentioned? As has already been mentioned if you go to the USPS website, you will see that there are quite a few options available for overseas shipping.

Hi One method I have had used in the past to mail me boxes of cards from the US is to use the flat rate Global Priority envelopes which are $10 for upto 4 pounds in weight. These are card envelopes you get from the post office. If you bubble wrap the box of cards and then put them in the envelope and tape the envelope shut it should be fine. Ive had Lord of the Rings trilogy boxes sent like this and even vintage full wax boxes of Star wars cards sent this way. They take 4-5 days to arrive. There is also a smaller $5 envelope for items upto 2 pounds in weight. Hope this helps.

Let me mention that while the small envelope is GREAT for single cards or perhaps a chase set (I think I've safely packaged up to 10 cards in the small envelope before) there is NO WAY a box can safely fit in it. And the cost of this one was raised to $5.25 to most international destinations. I can't believe that a box of cards can have been safely shipped via the large Global Priority envelopes, but I'm glad they arrived safely to you. As glim mentioned try going to the USPS site to see if there are other options the seller might be able to use... ____________________ Lessa - Addicted to Sketch cards -

I have shipped a few boxes of RA cards this way, It is the best method of shipping if you don't need postal insurance or a signature. Just put Bubble wrap around the box and it fits perfectly in the larger Global priority envelope.

I've received a box of cards safely in such a way... one of the fastest shipping from the UK I've ever gotten ironically. ____________________ I'm a burning effigy of everything I used to be. Robbie Williams My Sketch Collection

We tried that - remember? Both of us wound up with boxes that were DRAGGED accross the ocean! LOL

Hah! You think $32 for two boxes is bad, you want to try being charged nearly $20 for ONE CARD from US to UK - and being given no other option otherwise the dreaded NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. Needless to say I never bought from that seller again.

Europe to US shipping is never bad

Shipping is expensive period. Shipping from Canada to US or Europe is just plain expensive. The only 'cheap' shipping I've found is within the US. All sorts of cheap delivery confirmation options, tracking, insurance the works. Everyone should keep in mind that shipping charges are usually plainly laid out in the auction or price of the card. When I bid, if the shipping is higher, I'll pay less for that card on auction. As the buyer - it's all about the end price - Not the end price excluding shipping. ____________________ Check out my Trade List Apr 16.09: http://nonsportupdate.infopop....&r=37010938#37010938

I thought I would resurrect this thread. Just got a quote from a person in the US for shipping one card (singular) to the UK for $55. I think that's the highest quote I have had, anybody had a similar experience?

That must be for very secure shipping. I think some sellers quote a high price to deter overseas buyers, they would be better off just stating that they will only sell within the country that they live in. Having said all that e-bay was showing some Shipping to UK at £2000 but that seemed to be an error as when you went to specific auction it was only $5

I've seen the problem with ebay listing the shipping as over £10,000!!! but the actual price was only a few pounds ____________________ Dave
