Been opening our case of Psych over the last few nights. (It takes a lot of discipline for me not to run through a case in a night, but I am trying.)

Anyway, the set has been very well done for the most part. Quality is very good, and collation has been perfect so far. I don't want it to seem like I am picking on this set because I have noticed this with a few other sets recently.

The thing that has disappointed me a bit (well, a fair amount) is that the pictures on the costume cards don't show the actor in the costume featured. For example, the fabric is from a green shirt, but they are wearing a blue shirt on the picture on the front of the card.

Now, there might be a good reason for this. Probably something I don't know about, but it just seems like something was missed in creating the set to me. It sometimes ruins a perfectly good card.

Does this bug anyone else? Or is this just another example of my OCD taking over?

Well apparently certain card companies are having trouble getting enough "resources" for card sets that they hold licenses on. Now I myself don't understand how that happens since licenses don't come cheap and these things should be considered beforehand, but there it is anyway.

I guess the still photos that were available to be used on the cards were not the ones that matched up with the costumes that were available to be cut up. Does it look better when they do agree and when you have a picture of the full clothing item on the back of the card?

Yes it does. But a mismatched costume card is better than no costume card.

Not just with this set, I have never understood making a costume card showing the person NOT wearing the item or a color swatch and a black & white picture, it looks ridiculous and is totally pointless.

It's good to know I am not alone, Wolfie. If I were the manufacturer, it would bug me to release it. I also noticed this on the last set I bought from Cryptozoic - Castle, though it has not been exclusive to them.

I also agree with Raven, though. I would rather have a costume card than none at all. It just seems less polished and is a less enjoyable experience somehow.

Again, I have thoroughly enjoyed the Psych set. I give it a 3.75 out of 5 stars. It would be a 4 - 4.5 if the pictures all matched up. The other things that would have improved it would have been a Maggie Lawson auto and more pictures of series guests on the base cards. That half the fun of the show.

I agree 100% with this. I would have also added a few costume cards of guest stars. All of the main actors have multiple costume cards whereas George Takei, Rachael Leigh Cook, Cary Elwes, Cybil Shepard, etc would have been cool. I just feel the costumes are a generic pull and there could have been more excitement in "what costume/actor might I pull in this box!?!?".

I also find this irritating. Maybe I just got spoiled with the Supernatural trading cards sets.

Some of them are definitely generic, but there are a few that are quite good. I probably feel that way because one of my dual costume cards did have a button hole. I really enjoy oddities like that, but the pictures not matching even makes something like that less special.
