DC's cards for the most part stink! I have all the old sets, but I really only like the 1996 Master Series. They should IMO be higher in price and demand than they are. There were limited just like the 1995 & 1996 MM. I think they were limited to 35000 or 36000 boxes, but they never took off in price like the Masterpiece.

A few quick thoughts:

1) I have at least 5 sealed boxes - so there are people who have sealed boxes! (And none are current except Marvel Masterpieces)

2) Marvel Creators Collection was the first sealed box I purchased - funny that several people have listed that as a Top 10. Smile

3) I have a sealed Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen box for trade - email me for trade possibilities (ie, box for box)

@seagriffin: I used to have unopened boxes of Final Fantasy Art Museum 5th Edition & 4th Edition. As I already had a 'master set' of FFAM 1st to 5th editions I had no need to open them. I wonder if the old place I used to get them from still have them. I wouldn't mind some boxes myself Smile

If you mean the 1994 DC Master series (the one with the Superman Skydisc and the double sided foil cards), I believe the actual print run was closer to 200,000 boxes (boxes had a numbered sticker on them). A huge print run by today's standards, but not at all unusual 15 year ago.

If you meant a different set, never mind...
Smile

Oh, and to chip in my "dream boxes", they'd be

Simpsons Mania
Simpsons Skybox 1
Simpsons Tempo Downunder
Twilight Zone III
MArvel Silver Age

Of course, I've been around long enough to have had lots of most of them (exception: TZ III as I only hadt one of those), but the problem is I've always found it impossible to leave any of them sealed!

wow, so you could get a box and it would contain all chase cards for the set!! that is a real find for anybody!!

what is the best archive box/set that anyone has been lucky enough to open??

if its marked on the outside, surely these would only be kept/opened by the dealers?

I bought a Twilight Zone Series IV Archive box (marked on the outside) for about $700, you know where.
A little steep, but I missed the set completely when it came out and just about a year later, couldn't find even a single regular box. I'd already just about completed the Series I & II autograph card sets and really coveted the Ron Howard that was in Series IV, so I couldn't resist. It was pretty amazing opening packs and pulling an autograph out of just about every one.

The best part of that was, there was a clear packet of Sequentially numbered "Hall of Fame" cards at the bottom of the box. Since I knew I'd probably never find the first 4 cards (From Series III), I was able to get myself to sell those for over $200, which meant I got the whole Series IV TZ autograph set for less than $500, not too shabby considering what the Howard autograph has sold for on its own, the few times I've seen one listed.

As far as opening packs goes, there's not an experience much better than opening an "Archive" box, and I hope who wants to gets a chance to do so someday.
