My dear friend Ingrid Hardy has an eBook available online that is all about the world of sketch cards or art cards. The book contains interviews with artists, collectors and art directors from various trading card companies. It is definitely worth a read if you are curious about these little pieces of art. The book also contains a lot of photos of sketch (art) cards by many talented artists. My husband Tony and I also have an interview in the book. https://payhip.com/b/3vAS?fbcl...fGmNL6Yx17Ce6fhi1zc4This message has been edited. Last edited by: Elaine Perna,

Mille merci Elaine! And the guys at the MCCW podcast were great fun to chat with! This ebook is the result of many months of work. Hopefully it will be interesting to the existing sketch card/trading card community AND help introduce new collectors into the fold. The book contains 42 interviews with collectors, art directors, and artists - points of view from all three sides of the fence, from various corners of the world (though if there is a second volume, it would be interesting to find even more diversity), and from both male and female perspectives. I'm thrilled to say that Steve Sansweet was immensely generous in writing a foreword for the book! Everyone who participated was generous with their time in answering the question for the book. There is LOTS of artwork, so the file size is a bit large (about 37 mb). Links for the book are here, $8.99 and $9.99 respectively (amazon takes about 60%): Payhip PDF (and you can see preview pages): https://payhip.com/b/3vAS Amazon Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086KXG3R7 Thank you! ____________________ @PiPPodcast (YouTube) www.ingridkvhardy.com https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/IngridKVHardy

Well damn! You put me in the list of collectors I guess now I HAVE to buy it! Seriously, congrats on getting it out, kinda thought it might take a bit longer. So if I purchase from Payhip, that is better for you? ____________________ Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

Thanks Raven and mykdude ♥ Yes it is better for me through Payhip. AND, if you wish, I can put you on a list for updates for the print version later this year. And remember to reach out to the artists you like in the book with your thoughts! And thank the (few) art directors who agreed so kindly to share their time. And admire those collectors! As for the time it took... Lol - it took 6 months of constant writing, thinking, and organizing. And learning. LOTS and lots of learning. If there is a second volume next year (IF), I'll at least know much, much more. ____________________ @PiPPodcast (YouTube) www.ingridkvhardy.com https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/IngridKVHardy

That's great Ingrid. I'm in NY and it's a bad time now for anything you don't have to do, but later this year I would be happy to order a print version. You know how some of us still like books. Just post the contact info when it's ready. Two suggestions if I might . . . In your ad for the eBook, you could post an estimated number of sketches shown with the interviews. We like pictures too. And when you sell that print version, if you were to say include a quick sketch card from you or any of the other artists, you could easily double the price. All the best.

I suggested the same thing to Ingrid. Maybe have sketch cards made just for the printed book release.

Exactly, it would be a natural tie-in and make the book even more collectible. Plus people might buy more than one just for the sketches. It's worth a thought anyway. Best regards.
