Saw someone post on Facebook that boxes of the 1990 cards have been selling for $ 1,000 and up !

The Simpsons and SpongBob cards are hot. Rick and Morty can't be far behind. Its already been observed in the thread for "Cards Significantly Increased in Value". If individual cards in these products, some of them even base cards, are selling for higher prices, of course the sealed boxes will go through the roof.

This is pure speculation and gambling. If you have these cards already, might be a good idea to sell them now. If you are first buying them, you're late. Smart money has probably been in and out already. But don't worry, a new overproduced old title will be right around the bend.

The Topps UK version was printed on that better quality cardstock that, at the time, Topps was using only for cards in their various non-sports factory boxed sets. I'd been meaning to pick up a box of those and make a set, or at least pick up hand-collated set, but I would imagine they are very pricey now, too.

The "rookie" enthusiasts are saying that cards 1-5 in the base set are the ones to have for each family member, and for some reason, the sticker of Bartman has also rapidly accrued in resale value.

It's a fairly boring set, just screen-grabs on front, but the puzzle poster on back was a new illustration and huge, larger than usual for a card-back puzzle. At Comic-Con, Topps displayed the actual giant painting in their booth before it went up for auction. I'm fortunate to have a full uncut sheet of the base set thanks to the NSU board.

In 2014, a person popped up here saying they had access to a massive hoard of Topps non-sports uncut sheets and was seeking info on the sets themselves, storage ideas, values for possible resale, and how best to mail them. I traded some emails with him with additional info beyond what was in the thread, and at the end, he gave me the Topps Simpsons sheet (of which he had more of). He sent it rolled in a tube and it's in superb shape, so I imagine the others in the find were similarly well kept.

I never did hear from him again and have no idea what he actually did with any of the sheets (or the other stock) from the massive inventory he described. I was more active of a buyer on Ebay back then and I don't remember seeing the sheets posted there anytime immediately after. That would've absolutely been the best place to sell them at that time, and probably still is.

I never saw the Topps set back in the 1990s, but I distinctly recall the 2 SkyBox sets released in 1994, and how popular those were that year.

I remember fans opening a ton of packs and boxes to try to find the harder to find chase cards and ending up with a truckload of dupes on the easy stuff.

I collected the heck out of these as a kid. It took opening and trading SO MUCH to complete that set! Obviously I wish I still had my dupes, but seeing what complete sets are currently going for, I think it's time to sell my childhood!!
