9 card sealed sets of legends of Star Trek were issued by Rittenhouse approx 2006 . I have just been reading an article
about how these sets were issued . They seem to of been issued as 3 card sets at all different dates. From what I understand these cards were issued as 3 card sets at various dates. Did Rittenhouse issue these cards at various dates as 3 card sets. Were these sets as 3 cards ever put up for sale as seperate sets or just held until the 9 cards were available then packed as 9 card numbered sets. There is a set Uhura wich has 3 different actors in it. Seems to be an unusual method of issuing over a period of time. Any explanations Thanks Piko
They started in 2003. Some were 9 card sets of a particular character, others were 3 x 3 card sets of "minor" characters but issued as a 9 card set.

Think I have it . Cards in the packs have no revelence to the issued date or date on the back of the card, of the cards in them . If so it seems that they were made for that format in mind by Rittenhouse. My Kirk and Spock packs have the different years 03 and 04

Here is a partial list and release dates from the Rittenhouse Archives web Page
They started as 9-card sets for each character. They then sold some sets as 3 x 3 (3 cards each from 3 characters. They later sold sets of 6 cards for each of these so that every character had nine cards
Also, one card from each character was numbered x/1701, and if you ordered from Rittenhouse, they gave you the same number each time (Mine are 0314/1701)
The list of all 42 characters is also broken down by card number/name on Allender's Site
