Hello everyone, I recently pick up a Reprinted set of the Topps 1964 "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" trading card set. They are printed on a thinner paper stock then the original and the backs are printed in Black unlike the original blue. Does anyone know when these were printed and by whom.

A hint at the "when" is posted here: http://www.iann.net/voyage/col...es/donruss_table.htm -- "an unofficial reprint set that emerged at collectibles fairs in the 1990's," with the black backs. A blog post says that they bought the set from the U.K. about a decade ago, but he said this one was blue-backed though still on very thin card stock. I've seen the original Canadian release called a "reprint" set, but it's really the same as the blue-back U.S.A. set with a "Made in U.S.A." stamp in red. It's discussed in an article in The Wrapper Issue #136, but my back issues are in storage.
