I obtained this item, and i call it a card cause I am not sure what it is. It is an overszied greenish brown tinted cell that looks much like the marvel universe holograms. its about 7 inches by 5 inches. it came to me inside a oversized toploader on a black carboard backing. the item is clearish when pulled out and shows Captain America, Iron Man, Woverine, Cyclops and two other superhero woman I dont know who they are. X-Men with an Avenger has me baffled. I was thinking possibly a case topper of some sort, cause one of the other Marvel sets mentions a UPC in the checklist page. Did not mention this one though. Is this a card, a comic book sheet, or what? Id appreciate any help. Thanks. Images of front and back are at these 2 links: http://i.imgur.com/aMbFd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yO90x.jpg this one is a 2.5x7 inch uncut holgran (2 cards) shows spiderman and venom. possibly marvel universe 93??? http://i.imgur.com/QPzll.jpgThis message has been edited. They do remind me of an dealer incentive in the mid 90's.not for cards but for comics.if a seller orders xxx amount they get the free incentive to sell on. Is there any licensing or copyright info anywhere on the cards?? Im sorry ive not been more helpful!!

It is possible these were from a comic shop incentive. there is absolutely no writing on either of these cards anywhere. other then the scan of the captain america one which has a upc code on the back of the holder it is in, but that may not even have been part of the card. The spiderman one is so much like the art in MU93, but who knows. And any help is better than no help, so thank you.

It looks like the holograms Marvel ran on a bunch of comic covers back in the 90's, but I don't remember them being that large. They were closer to card size, if I remember correctly.

I did think of that too. I do remember some of them being larger than regular card size. but never quite as elaborate. most of the larger ones i remember were more silverish. or the kind with an etched type finish. But who knows. Like simpsonscardman says, it is a mystery, for now. I hope I can find out for sure. It probably is some type of promotion or what not but what exactly :

Check out item #120719059796 on THAT site. It looks like it is from M.A.X. YEARBOOK #1 (Marvel 1993) Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the X-MEN & the AVENGERS! P.S. - The two female characters are Storm and Scarlet Witch.

I'm late to the game, but I have one of these too. I've had it for about 10 years now. I might have to put this information with it in case I forget down the road. ____________________ I'm looking for colored "Robots the Movie" sketch cards by Inkworks. http://www.comicartfans.com/Ga...etail.asp?GCat=25744
