monsterwaxI WISH we paused it... Kickstarter "suspended" it without any warning, and the form e-letter they sent us after the fact was vague as to any specific reason. Weirder yet, they said they couldn't comment further-- even though we wrote them twice asking for specifics.
Being that it's aliens and UFOs, the Men In Black could be involved. We don't wanna fuss because we want to do more in the future, and we wouldn't want to alienate them (no pun intended).
But it's such a cool set, we HAVE to make it. I want it in my own collection! Our workaround is to offer all the same benefits the Kickstarter offered, only 10% cheaper (since we don't have to pay Kickstarter's 10% fee). We're offering this discount for a limited time at own website:
https://www.monsterwax.com/Cosmos.html(Or visit Monsterwax.com and follow the link to "Creatures of the Cosmos")
It's still on the same timetable. The pre-order is for late November printing and pre-Christmas delivery, only now it includes buyer protection though Paypal (Kickstarter offers no refunds for undelivered goods).
We're also cutting the production run in half to just 999 sets. That's for all the factory sets, the cards in the 250 numbered wax boxes, everything! So from the collector's standpoint, it's twice as nice for less money.
Hopefully, we'll be able to claw back most the pledges we lost when the campaign ended. The pre-order page was originally set up for all the patrons who were left in the cold when the campaign abruptly ended, but we can't afford to turn anyone away. We can't reach many of the original people so we're trying to make up a significant chunk of our printing fees. It's been a bit of a headache, but when I see how good the cards look, I'm sure we're doing the right thing to overcome any obstacles to make it happen.
