Following on their previous delightful little volumes on classic Topps series like GPK, Wacky Packs, Mars Attacks, and Star Trek, the good people at Abrams Books have wisely turned their attention to the famed 1977 Star Wars five-series set. The book is another fine edition in the line, gives great insight into the creation of the first Star Wars cards and even shows off the "wonder bread" set from the same era as a bonus. Here are the four promos, issued in a sealed cello pack affixed to the inside back cover, standard in this line. I'd hope for 4 new blue star field designs to supplement the original series 1, but they went with reprinting two original stickers as cards as well as a pair of cards showing the original packaging. The reverse sides are the largely the same. This book will almost certainly be reprinted and the cards in the later editions would likely be noted as such. Next up is "Empire", another great set, that one in three series. This is one fine line of books. ____________________ Everywhere around this burg they're running out of verbs, adverbs, and adjectives. Everywhere around this town, they're running out of nouns.

I was looking at this just the other day. Curious, how much do they go into the history of original deal between Topps and Lucas for the creation of those first sets? ____________________ Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's valuable.
