Sometimes they are available in one specialist store in London so the other option is ordering from Becket. 4 copies cost $14 postage

That's not bad, most american dealers want more than that to send a 50p promo card. Roll Eyes

ok, I thought I had put UK in. $32 is silly money and you could end up with 4 of the same

Yeah, well, you never know what's going to be hard to get later. I would just wait and see what is given out at Philly, San Diego Comic-Con, and other shows. I remember getting some "show exclusives" at San Diego in 1998-2001 only to see them all over the place later. Others did end up being hard to find even today.

Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.

A new Outlander P3 appeared "you know where" and quickly sold for $ 50

I have not seen a Flash P3 yet

I fully understand the nature of our hobby. But show exclusive/dealer promos costing $25+ is not a hobby I want to stay in, neither do I want to wait 6 months for a promo to come down in price. Promos should be obtainable early and for all collectors not for individuals to make a fast buck.

I collect cards too - promos in particular. However, in the case where one card is given out only at a certain show outside the normal circuit of NSU, Philly, San Diego, you can't expect the company to make sure you get all the freebies. You can expect that card to become in-demand. I think the reason the WonderCon promo is hard to get is because that isn't much of a card collector show anymore. It used to be in Oakland, CA. It was supposed to be in L.A. or Orange County one year and come back but it ended up staying south the past few years (the difference between a one-hour drive and a one-hour plane ride for me so I haven't been to one in a while).

If you hand cards to a comic book collector, he might throw them on the floor or put them in a box and forget about them not realizing they are show exclusives. The few card collectors in attendance appear to have recognized the potential value and tested the waters, soon finding that they could make some money. It was the collectors down the road that drove up the prices. You can't blame that on the manufacturer.

You could also look at it from the perspective of the collector in Los Angeles who has been paying or trading for Philly/other east coast show/European show promos for years. Now, he or she has a few cards that people back east are willing to pay through the nose for.

And again I fully understand all of that, but if I am collecting a set of cards and I already accept that I am not going to obtain a master set, down to cost. I do want the promos (it's my collection so I decide what I want) and if there are 3/4 or 5 limited promos that people are "getting their money back with" then that's me gone as I don't want to pay $75 for promos and I don't want an incomplete promo set. I've bitten the bullet on what my collection can be to the point that hard to get/too expensive promos will be the end. I have paid "silly money" for hard to get promos but usually only one a set.

The Outlander P1 (Emerald Con) seems to be much harder to get than the Wonder Con promos. The latter are very much "available" unlike the P1

Some of the Industry Summit ones (Outlander P3, Flash P3, Bombshells P2) are starting to surface, as well. But not cheap

Looks like there will a Flash P4 given out at Philly if you go to Crypto's table and open one of their products in front of their representative
