Battlestar Galactica Promo In The Current NSU

H_ToserBattlestar Galactica Promo In The Current NSU
Hello:
One astute dealer noticed something odd. The Battlestar Galactica promos in her copies of NSU did not quite match-up to what we have pictured on our
current issue page. While the card is identical on the front, the card is numbered P1 rather then P2. And it turns out, she's right.
I have been in touch with Rittenhouse and they confirmed that one card on the sheet with the Battlestar Galactica promos on it was misnumbered P1. Since the cards were printed several up, most of them were printed correctly with "P2" on the back.
We've now determined that approximately 10 percent of the P2 promos were incorrectly numbered this way. As we did not know about this until the dealer e-mailed over the weekend, we were unable to point out the error to Rittenhouse. Once more, we do not know where the magazines with the incorrectly numbered cards were distributed or if those magazines were lumped together or scattered about. If you got a P1, hold on to it as it should be a neat collectible.
This thread shows the cards as they were supposed to be numbered. It also shows the correctly numbered P1 card.
Thanks.

Bill DeFranzoBefore anyone panics, according to NSU's annual statement one can infer that as many as 10,000 promos probably exist. If 1,000 (10%) are the P1/P2 variety then that doesn't make it super scarce. Wait!
What is bad for the hobby is to see people paying exorbitant prices for cards that eventually become commonplace. How many times does this have to happen before we lose a disillusioned collector?

allenderI got a P-2, but it was bent by the USPS. Maybe I can get the US Government to replace it with the scarce variety? Bail me out!

H_ToserI will be curious to see if anyone here gets the P1 variety. As I said, I have no idea where these ended up or if they got clumped together or what. If anyone gets one, post here and tell us.
Hey, maybe they all went to the U.K. and that will make up for the wait.
