I think NSU might do well in stores that are doing more Pop Culture stuff like Hot Topic, Lunch Box, and Game Stop ... especially if there's Funko Pop figure articles and/or pricing on current & upcoming store exclusive figures to draw them in.

Is Funky Pop a card series because I thought NSU was intended for cards or have I like Rip van Winkle gone to sleep one night and woken up in another era. Surely if Beckett want to include figures amongst their pricing data ranges they would have produced a specialist magazine or price guide.

I for one, am a card collector and if such articles were to appear I would seriously consider cancelling my subscription to NSU.

Regards

John Levitt

I will never forget years ago when Tuff Stuff's Collect magazine branched out from covering just cards, to other collectibles, just as statues

I think they folded soon afterwards

You can't be all things to all people. Jack of all trades, Master of none.

I have as much desire to read about Funko Pop figures as I do about gaming cards, which is to say none at all. Wink

Yikes! Twak
Was just putting that thought out there since Funko Pop figure pricing is already in the Non-Sport Almanac and Beckett Sports Card Monthly Angel

Was this key sale of the Lucas autograph a graded card by any chance?

I found the 2011 Beckett Collectible Gaming Almanac and these are the prices on those 3 cards:
2008 Indiana Jones Heritage Autographs:
Harrison Ford $3,000 - $4,500
George Lucas $500 - $1,000
Steven Spielberg $900 - $1,500

The Aug-Sept 2010 NSU Price Guide has them priced at:
Harrison Ford $4,500
George Lucas $800
Steven Spielberg $4,600

For what it's worth. I picked up my copy on Friday. The magazine was still sealed, but the promo cards were missing.

I'm not spitting teeth or anything. Just mentioning it in passing.

I received an envelope from Beckett today

They sent me the replacement Teddy, Twin Peaks, and Outlander promos, but no Star Trek. I wonder if they ran out

Does anyone have a Star Trek for trade ? If so, can you please post here ? Thanks

Just back from Toronto ( boy was it hot! ) . The two Indigo bookstores I went to did not have the issue and the staff I spoke to were not sure whether they had sold out or not had it yet. As an example of how up to date ( or not Roll Eyes ) their stock is they had just had the Entertainment Weekly with Jason Momoa as Aquaman on the cover which I believe was out in the USA two weeks ago.

I found two copies of NSU in an international magazine store by the Hockey Hall of Fame. One was without a bag and both the magazine itself and the promo cards were badly damaged. The other one was still in the bag but the top was torn so I was surprised to find the white envelope with the promos still inside and more importantly undamaged Dance .

I also received an envelope from Beckett containing the four missing promos. I was lucky to get all of them, as they did say they only had limited supply of the Rittenhouse cards. Thanks to their customer service department for correcting this situation.

Further to my post on 13th June when I mentioned that I had just received a very late renewal notice of my subscription and it now being a month or so since I renewed I have no idea at all which issue my subscription will restart from so I don't even know if I am going to get this copy yet alone any promo cards. Clicking on the button to by the current copy gets me a "Product Not Found" message.

regards

John

Good Evening

Does anyone have a spare copy of the magazine that I can purchase as despite being a subscriber for more years than I can remember I will not be getting the June/July issue?

A few words of warning. It appears that it takes 6-8 weeks to effect a renewal so all you subscribers will need to be renewing well in advance of the subscription expiry date provided of course that you know it. I certainly did not know mine, as what with, over the years taking out 1 year subscriptions followed by 2 year ones and then 1 or 2 year renewals at shows the actual renewal date had become somewhat blurred in the memory and of course by this time relying on the efficient renewal procedure of the previous publisher. It seems needs to be done prior to the issue of the last expected issue as you cannot rely of being told in a timely fashion as my experience has proved. As you may have read in a previous post of mine that my renewal notice was sent well after it should have been by the circulation department and therefore according to them it was my fault that my subscription was not renewed in time.

regards

John

John, I agree that the renewal process needs to be done far more in advance. At one stage the renewal date was on the envelope. I need to write something
Down my new subscription date.

Hey there, Harris.
It takes me awhile to get each new issue of NSU as I order it with my comics through Diamond Previews, so I sometimes get it nearly a month after it hits the stands and normal subcribers have it.

Between that and subscribing myself, I haven't missed an issue in over 20 years. (Magazine still looks great, real sharp!)

Anyway, just got my June/July issue and it was missing the promos. I'm mostly worried about the Twin Peaks, as I'm going after that set, in a big way. Are there any left of that one for replacements? I know I'm late to the game here. Thanks!

I went into our local comic shop today ( Forbidden Planet, Wolverhampton ) and asked if they had this months issue of non-sport update.

The manager looked at me gone out and said my god it's been some years since i heard anyone ask for that, we don't stock it anymore and have not done so for ages, that's a real magazine from the past. Frown

I think it is more like where did the hobby go out to in the UK, it was doing quite nicely a certain number of years ago, that sadly is not the case anymore.
