Happy 4th Everyone:
Anyone interested in listening to a non-sport card related Podcast? NSU Card Talk's own Paul Bines (aka Quaint1) has just created the first of what I hope will be a continuing series of Podcasts. And the silly fool chose to interview me in his first one (hey Paul, what are you thinking --- don't you want people to listen to this thing? LOL). Paul hopes to get the Podcast on iTunes soon. Apparently, there is an issue at the moment getting new Podcasts on iTunes -- they're probably too busy selling those new shiny new iPhones to worry about these silly issues. For now, you can download the Podcast through Paul's site here:
CardCast.co.ukGo take a listen.

That was very informative. Thanks for sharing. See you in November Harris.

Quaint1Thanks! Aad thanks for the plug Harris! (he's not that bad really!)
Be Warned - I will be looking for editorial contributions (interviews, that sort of thing) in future so manufacturers, authors, sketch artists, collectors - be on your guard!
iTunes WILL happen - there is, as HArris mentioned, a problem with submitting new podcasts at the moment, but if anyone wants a link to the RSS Feed directly, please email me off-board.
Au Res.,
Paul

silmapcoWell done Paul

SilverbackVery, very interesting!

I had never adjusted my mp3 player because I don't listen to music. Harris and Paul had a long slow southern drawl and Harris sounded like a gril and Paul sounded like a British bulldog growling.

After adjusting the speed, it sounded much better!
Well done, both of you.

Quaint1Thanks again for the comments!
To assess some possible technical issues, could anyone who has already downloaded the file, or who is planning to, let me know how long the file took/takes to download? I'm getting varying reports of slow downloads and I want to know it this is universal, or restricted to certain people - email me off-board please at ukcardcast@googlemail.com
Thanks!
Au Res.,
Paul

allenderWow, wicked cool. Now I can listen to Harris as I drive to Allentown.

Paul, you have a great future in talk radio. You could try out for Don Imus' position. Next step YouTube?
Harris, if "seasoned collectors" means people who have been collecting for 10-15 years, does this mean you (and some of the rest of us) are seriously over-seasoned? Old salts, or just a fine curry?
It must be good, because everybody in the neighborhood was setting off firecrackers while I was listening.
It loaded in 2-3 minutes here, which isn't bad for 10 MB streaming through servers on both ends. USA "high speed internet" is reported to be way slower on average than what you see in other pockets of the semi-civilized world. Of course I might have an advantage using the same equipment as Paul recorded it on.

H_ToserVery funny post, Jeff!
Oh, and about the seasoned collectors...don't take everything that came out of my mouth with seriousness. I was just babbling in some of the parts (don't tell Paul, ok?).

Well, I was verbally aSalted before the recording and the unedited version was Peppered with insults, so I suppose that WOULD make me 'Seasoned'!

justmFinally got the time to listen to it this morning & found it a very interesting 22 mins. Thanks for bringing something different to the hobby Paul. Very much appreciated. An interview with a card manufacturer would be a nice addition to the podcasts in the future - not sure how difficult this is to arrange though.
Looking forward to the next one.
With this to listen to, the Encyclopedia arriving a few days ago and the new NSU due imminently (not to mention some notable expected releases this month), I'm beginning to feel a bit spoilt in July. I've also got my birthday on the 18th - lucky me!!
