Hi All:

I told Paul I'd plug his podcast and a feature he is working on for an upcoming episode of CardCast. Please help him out!

For the episode, he now running a poll to determine collector's favorite 10 sets of '07. Send Paul an email to ukcardcast@googlemail.com, with the subject "Best of 2007" and give your name and your top three. The only stipulation is the sets you vote for must have been issued between Jan 1 and Dec 31 of '07. You won't get a prize or anything for your vote but you'll be helping with the podcast, which will be greatly appreciated.

Some time in early 2008, Paul will send out the votes to his accounting firm of Countem, Cheatum, and Squeezehem for tabulation and announce the winners in a future episode.

Thanks.

Thanks to Harris for mentioning the poll and many thanks to those who have already voted - please keep the votes coming in!

I will be selecting (if I get sufficient votes) a top 10 sets of 2007 and will be including a rundown of the sets in an episode of CardCast early in the New year - remember, I only need you to tell me your top three sets; I'll be calculating the top ten by allocating points to each set submitted - the top ten will be those ten sets with the most points.

If you want to give reasons why you picked a set, that's fine, I'll be reading out a few comments as part of the rundown. If you don't want to give your reasons, that's fine too! Once votign has closed (I haven't set a date - but I'm probably looking at the end of January to record the episode) I'll publish a list of all the sets that got votes in the order of votes received.
As Harris stated, only sets issued between January and December 2007 are elegible; only one voting email per person; employees of card manufacturers are permitted to vote, but not for their own sets! (So, Harris, no sneaky voting for the Gotta Pea preview set! Big Grin)
Au Res.,
Paul

I'll be letting you know after I've opened my Christmas boxes.

I'll then know for definite what my favourites are - and why.

Thanks to all who have voted so far - sorry to sound like I'm pestering, but if you haven't already voted, it's not too late!
I will probably be recording the next episode in the next couple of weeks and I's like to announce the poll results in that episode, so if you want to vote, please do so by Friday 18th January. All I need are your top three sets of 2007 - and if you want to give reasons you can (which I may well quote in the Top 10 rundown!) though you don't have to!
Au Res.,
Paul

Last call for votes (if you haven't already voted) in the UK CardCast 'Best of 2007' poll!
I'm extending the deadline to Monday 21st January, so if you haven't already voted, and want to, please do so now! Send your list of the best three sets released between January and December 2007 to ukcardcast@googlemail.com
I will compile all the votes received by end of day on the 21st January, and will record a shorter than usual 'Poll Results Special' episode next week!
The votes cast so far are pretty close, though there is one set in a clear lead (and, no, I'm not going to say which set that is!)
Au Res.,
Paul

I have just posted the results episode - it's available now from my website and should be filtering through to iTunes and other podcast directories shortly!
Who was the winner? You'll have to listen to the results rundown to find out!

Paul:

I hate to be critical but that episode is missing something...I can't quite put my finger on it but it lacks a certain something (something quite good I might add) that all the other episodes had....Still can't think what it is though.... Razz

Seriously...Excellent job! I'm listening to it now. Congratulations to all the winners.

PS I enjoyed the bit at the end. Big Grin
